Are we talking about a hypothetical Melee/OoT final? Melee might get a few piddling rally attempts. They will fade like a fart on a windy day after everyone remembers how beloved OoT is. Nintendo rallies especially will be useless against it. Nintendo fans don't WANT to rally against it with the possible exception of RBY lunatics. The love for FFVII has unfortunately waned throughout the years. They love Pokémon, not gen 1. Tumblr is mostly comprised of a younger crowd, who has little to no reason to enjoy the older games. Besides, they're not a hive mind, so even if Pokémon is the most popular game on tumblr it doesn't mean every other fanbase there shares the same love. potential Pokemon upset train, but it just didn't materialize, and I'm
starting to side with the people who say that people are most likely to
just go along with whoever the rallier asks them to vote. |

I may be hamming it up, but nothing that I'm saying is untrue imo. Just
look at today - here's a great opportunity to make OoT look pedestrian,
if not threatened outright. LttP might be the #2 game on GameFAQs, and
it's in the middle of a storm of rallies and YEAR OF THE SNES... and
this is the best it can do. 40/60 Nintendo fans don't want OoT to lose. It can get its ass kicked by a final-form Undertale, but it won't lose to a Nintendo game. --- http://i.imgur.com/gByqgPg.gif |

Yes, Link vs. Draven. Allen said 40% of rallied votes went to Link. Excluding Link's own rallies, its still something like 30%. And, Pokemon looked like it was getting around 25% backfire. Spillover works against it, and people know what is waiting for OOT in the final. OOT has picked up the mantle of the underdog and hero. And, CT > LTTP. Without
the ASV-trend, Undertale won't have its "pretend to be dead for 16
hours before turbo charging to the lead" thing that it had before, but

I'm
not sure if SM64 should be that high, it lost without even forcing
Undertale to use it's super mode. And I can't believe the Melee rally
would help UT more than SM64 so this seemed like a pretty meh
performance. |

still think it's depressing that MGS3 is putting such a puny effort in
this that there's nothing to discuss for the remainder of the day. God

MGS3 is decisively ahead of every game that it's been discussed in contention with and came much
closer to Super Mario RPG today than any of its previous competitors.
Where would you rally enough MGS fans to make up over 2,000 votes

I've
said it a lot, but win or lose, Ocarina of Time's backfire rate will be
so much bigger than any other opponent Undertale has had. It's the
final, it's legitimately considered the best game ever at numerous
places around the Internet, it has a reverence that other games just
don't. Undertale will have a fight! If it's Melee, I don't think it

winning at this point would honestly make the better narrative at this

don't think it would be boring, considering everything that has
happened leading up the final match. Link couldn't manage to save
GameFAQs (to dramaticize it) in the last contest, but it would be
awesome to see him do it this time, especially if the match is as epic

want OoT to win at this point, but the fact that it's winning only by

winning has become just as boring of a plotline as OoT winning because

Melee 67.71% against Portal 60.03% against Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal 55.30% against Kingdom Hearts II 50.76% against Chrono Trigger 56.28% against Final Fantasy VII Undertale 50.95% against Mass Effect 3 55.74% against Fallout 3 54.84% against Super Mario World 51.52% against Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow/Green 51.33% against Super Mario 64 Analysis So the two most heavily entrants meet. By knowing it had no chance Super Mario 64 lost in the most efficient way possible by being just behind Undertale for most of the match to prevent the rallies from burying it. Melee benefitted from Undertale rallying along with its own and was relatively quiet as it easily finished ahead of Final Fantasy VII. If Melee fans mean serious business and decide to heavily rally then I would give the game a great chance at winning. I know it took a lot from them just to defeat Chrono Trigger, but it is quite clear they could do more. Apparently there’s a tournament finals going on tomorrow so a lot of people are going to be in a Melee mood. didn't hit the overdrive against Mario 64 because it didn't need to. We
were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of Pokemon/Undertale the first half of
the match. We fell way behind by the end because Undertale didn't need
it. Melee won't be facing that Undertale unless its rally just doesn't
