Why did you end up quitting Smash 4?

I really thought I would like it as I loved 64/brawl/melee and played them all competitively.

I just feel like the game lost player expression somewhere in the process of adding combos without meaningful movement options. I really like expressing myself through my style of play in competition, and building/expanding on that feels like I'm expanding my character as a person in a way. A lot of smash 4's neutral game just isn't what I like about smash. It's mainly focused on getting a grab into a flowchart combo. The dynamic combo game isn't as prevalent as it was in melee, and you don't have the quick decision making for strings to work like in brawl..combos are just handed to you on a platter, already optimized and ready to go. I want to be creative, I want to use crazy mix-ups, and condition my opponents to falter in neutral because of certain movement patterns. Smash 4 to me just feels like run around and grab then do the same combo over and over the game. It's too much flowchart, not dynamic enough.

Granted, this was when I played the game in the first two weeks and it seems like it's changed quite a bit through patches. I've been considering trying it again as my smash4 scene really wants me to play since I was the best player in my state for Brawl, they think I will be good(but who knows lol, I only want to play things I enjoy, not just because I would be good at them). I would probably try Ryu if I played it again. The first time I mained Shulk/Pac-man/Bowser Jr.

MGS3 is more likely to get bracket votes, as more people would be expected to have MGS3 getting this far into the contest than SMRPG.

Well, my actual bracket has suffered recently since I've gotten four matches in a row wrong, but on the upside, I'm now in the top 50 three times instead of just two. Making a fun bracket with Super Mario RPG going about as far as it could really paid off.

Oh, I forgot to mention this: I had MGS3 winning this after the last round because RE4's weakness was predictable given the results into that and MGS3 outside of Bioshock weirdness had one of the more impressive wins murdering ME2 and then beating big brother.

Who knows who wins this though.
