really. R/gaming, a couple of twitch streams, all kinds of places. Also
the skyward sword Facebook page allowed Link to cut like 300 votes in
one update I actually gave up for a couple of hours of that match, then got back into it later and Link started cutting again. I always wonder if I could have made it a couple of hundred votes closer if I hadn't. --- Such a lust for revenge (edited 12/11/2015 11:53:06 AM)report |

The rally doesn't need to be full power. Not this late into the contest. So many undertale fans and voters from the past rounds know about it now and lurk around throughout the day and vote for it. IT's only those are casual followers of the contest and just vote for it when they're on(after school or college) thats when you see ridiculous updates. The fact that we have so many of these people around shows some random results in the contest, Mario RPG getting 56% on RE4 being one for example and Majora hanging it with Lttp for so long. --- FFVII Remake >>>> Original. I don't think Zelda in general weakening here since 2009 or so is solely because of anti-votes or whatever. As gamefaqs has shed fans of more modern and mainstream games and retreated into its core demographic, Zelda just got weaker. --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] |

OoT is a bit harder to rally for now. 7 years ago i would say OoT absolutely stomps Undertale even without a rally due to high votals and the Wii still being somewhat relevant. I actually think there is kind of a point to that. I don't really sense any will by the board to try and take down Undertale with counter-rallies. I would assume the people who were voting for Shepard were GameFAQers. Maybe there were some Redditers, but I doubt it was very many because it'd be pointless. Most of shepards votes came from his dedicated fans(probbaly pure ME fans who don't give a s*** about League or Zelda) Out of those ME fans they'd be more likely to side with Link because most of them will be from Gamefaqs and probably dont' know about Draven. Draven is f***ing weak dude, the guy should have lost to Chie. So taking natural gamefaqs strength into account....majority of Shepards votes would go to Link. --- FFVII Remake >>>> Original. can just briefly scan any of the stats topics or any of the other
archived topics from the board on Pokemon/Undertale. The amount of
rallying that was going on that day for Pokemon was ludicrous.
Not just the sources that could be rallied from, but the fervent
obsessiveness of the sheer number of fans rallying All. Damn. Day. for
Pokemon speaks for itself. You took your best shot and got creamed. I don't expect you to have any dignity about it, but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna keep throwing it back in your face~ --- Goddamn Metal Gear Solid 3 |
true, you've got to balance the size of the community with how much it cares / how organized it can rally. part of undertale's success here, i'm sure, has to do with the fact that gamefaqs is bigger than undertale. undertale doing well in contests here is sort of like moving up. however, pokemon is bigger than gamefaqs, so there's no urgency for pokemon to win this contest. moreover, it is a fairly scattered community, many of whose members have strong preferences on which pokemon games they prefer. red/blue's glitchiness and jankiness have become memetic in the past few years, and it has become somewhat of a popular opinion that they are actually bad games. edit: ok i posted this before i got ninja'd by a post saying the pokemon rallying was quite serious, i don't even know anymore lol --- I like this guy - Shiny Mewtwo (edited 12/11/2015 12:15:13 PM)report |
