I'm a little frustrated about Melee rallying past Chrono Trigger because it was fun to see the latter crush everything in its path and had things played out "naturally" all my pre-contest talk about Chrono Trigger winning its division because it has simply looked better in these contests than Melee (and FFX) would have made me look like a genius. Although maybe it still does. I have very little idea which of the two games I actually like more so that way I just flat-out didn't care. We would have seen Chrono Trigger upset Final Fantasy VII - so much for all the "I don't want to see a repeat of OOT vs. FFVII" complaints - and either an(other?) epic Mario vs. Pokémon match or a settling of the Mario series hierarchy once and for all. this doesn't even look like the s***show people were hoping for. I've
been asleep so correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like Undertale and
Melee took the leads pretty easily. The tumblr rally didn't save FFVII,

I will admit for me that Twilight Princess and Other M ended up turning me off from newer Nintendo, but that's just because they're not as good as their predecessors. I don't think they should be banned since there's no practical way to do that without even worse side effects But that doesn't mean I can't think they suck (also speaking of being selfish, I think it's pretty selfish to rally since you're basically saying your opinion is worth more than everyone else's. The Melee rally saving SM64 pretty much depended on the Tumblr vote going to FFVII. Unless Melee was losing there was no way they were going to rally hard enough to have an effect on SM64/Undertale. In rallying, you are choosing the sample, so you are effectively deciding the vote. Undertale has long since passed the point of being an underdog. It's
like WWE pretending Roman Reigns is the underdog even though everyone

I feel like I'm beating my head against a wall every time someone argues that just because rallies are not against the rules they're not giving Undertale a hugely disproportionate advantage that no other game in the contest has access to. Most other games would have had absolutely none. Undertale has a huge, super intense fanbase that grew off of several preexisting fanbases. I like the comeback, it is in SM64's best interest to let Undertale
