FFVII spike leads to a stall. Also, the Undertale well isn't infinite. Our earlier calculations should still hold true somewhere. Mario should end up close, and Melee should be able to beat it with a decent (not even too major) amount of rallying, probably. The
Pokemon hype was justified - it got a lot closer than anything else to
Undertale. 3600 votes. It was looking very grim for Undertale for a
few hours in the middle of the match. I think everyone knew, or should have known, at around the middle of the Fallout match, that Pokemon and OOT were the two real chances. Melee adds maybe a third if it can rally hard. The OOT hype is real. I'd rather Undertale win, but it has a chance. --- September 1, 2003; November 4, 2007; September 2, 2013 NEVER FORGET. |

Well,
I'd wager it got more votes because SFF matches usually have lower vote
totals because it limits the voter pool a bit. You're more likely to
get people who haven't played either game when you pit two games from

I mean, I understand why some other people are, but this contest has proved that rallies are going to determine the contest from now on (and that even games with legit strength might be rallied to to tune of 20% swings!), and all of the bad users coming to the board have both made this place suck and made a ton of people in outside communities tear into us because of it. Melee ruined the last week of this contest for me. I know Chrono Trigger would lose to Undertale. But then I would have rooted as hard as I can for our Hero of Time. The fact that he would be a big underdog would have made me that much more emotionally engaged! The people who've s*** up the board are equally regulars as they are new users or contest season visitors. There's no one in particular to blame except people being clowns. And yeah, rallies determine the contest from now on. This should be a surprise! Gamefaqs contests at their peak weren't about just us, they included the whole internet. The only problem right now is our retention rate, and Undertale seems to be way better about this than League. Votals have risen since it started making a run. So why get all salty about it? We want bigger, healthier contests. New blood, new interest from other sites, is the only way we'll get it. No reason to get all up in arms over unexpected results if it means people show up to vote. play. Will the rally back off when Undertale clears 55%? If so, how
