Smash seems to have a more active online community than Undertale. I think if they went ALL OUT (full effort and reddit, Smash Boards, pro players' twitter accounts, the works), it could be fearsome indeed. I mean, this topic seems convinced that CT was on it's way to a 60%+ win, and Melee snuffed that out without giving the impression that the fanbase was really trying that hard. They tried pretty hard. They got reddit, multiple players tweeting and retweeting, Smashboards posting on the front page, Smashboards posting on Twitter and Facebook, etc. The reason I'm rather skeptical they can do much more than that is that each of the new efforts by Melee seemed to produce less results as the day went on. The reddit rally at the beginning was able to turn CT gaining at 1000 votes per hour into Melee gaining at 500 votes per hour. The Armada tweet/retweet and Smashboards front page post in the morning was able to generate a couple hundred net votes per hour for a few hours. But the Smashboards Twitter/Facebook push 4 hours from the end, which was supposed to be a big deal, managed to stop CT's SNV gains of around 250 per hour, for about one hour. CT went right back to gaining, albeit very slowly, after that. Mew2King's tweet at the end looked decent because we were in the last hour when there are very few votes coming in. It would barely register in the middle of an Undertale ASV. And the explanation for that is pretty simple: as you rally by more and more methods, you increasingly reach the people you've already reached. That said, rallies have been known to get stronger in each subsequent round. inching back up towards Undertale. No clue how things will go once we
reach a less ungodly hour than this, though, though I'm betting/hoping
for Undertale to pull it out in the end. |
Maybe the undertale spillover votes are going to SSBM because undertale is earthbound-like and SSBM has Ness? lol probably not. --- I like giant robots. |
huh, hypothetical Melee/Undertale match would be on Sunday maybe those Twitch rallies that people have talked about since round 1 (lol Hearthstone) will finally make an appearance |

OOT's percentage on FFVII in 2009 Final at 2:40: 53.94% SSBM's percentage on FFVII now: 54.31% Unfortunately the updater doesn't have the first 6 hours of the 1v1 bonus poll. right now Mario's game plan is to lay low and let Undertale float
between 50% and 50.5%. In the closing hour of the match, FF7 will catch
up to SSBM. SSBM will then perform a last minute rally to survive. Mario
64 will ride that rally and pass Undertale on the final update giving
