Well,
MGS1 is closer to MGS3 in terms of quality than FFIX is to FFVIII, so
it probably leans more toward an imbalanced trade, but we'll always have

The
MGS match is over and done. I'm away from my computer, but the average
of the 2007/2008 Crono/Vincent matches predicts SMRPG/RE4 goes down to

too high, tranny! We only saw one match where it wasn't tied to
Undertale, and it was a disappointing match. You can argue that rallies
are a natural part of its strength and that it would (more likely than
not) rally to beat the big Marios, but I didn't see enough of its

just leaning on preconceived notions in the absence of any hard data.
hard data suggests that RBY probably (but not definitely) beats Mario 3,
and LTTP just struggled with Majora. the only game left that can really
challenge it is Mario 64. well, we'll see how tomorrow goes at the

Eh,
I wouldn't credit the MGS core fanbase to any disproportionate degree
for this. As much as I'd like to believe in rSFF (...at least from a
certain perspective), this is pretty obviously MGS1 being flat-out
weaker than MGS3. That's a pretty big weakening for MGS1 and by
extension MGS as a whole, though at least 2/3 look to be static-ish. MGS3, as much as I like it, also continued a trend away from what I felt made the original MGS a classic. Tranqs and FPV meant that most of the stealth gameplay pretty much disappeared, it continued the trend toward excessive surrealism, and even its core themes came off to me as a Broken Aesop. I still like it, but I could go on and on about how it doesn't stack up to MGS1 where it counts. Maybe I will! Yeah that'll make this 55-45 killing totally worth it --- Goddamn Metal Gear Solid 3 |

see. Ideally, it should try to get that lead above 800 to really lock
