Why were people going 60-40 for aLttP? aLttP isn't that much stronger than MM and there shouldn't be a crushing amount of SFF. --- No amount of rallying would let me beat raytan7585. Congrats to raytan7585 for winning the CB9 Guru Contest! |

We assumed LttP was a pretty good step above MM in the Zelda hierarchy (it did beat MM pretty easily in a favorite Zelda poll less than 3 months after MM won GotD) and because there will probably be at least some SFF going on. It's pretty clear that CT this year is a completely different level the CT in the past. The only other game from GOTD in LTTP's half of the division was Deus Ex, and that projected a... *checks* 55% win for LTTP right on the dot. Perfect Dark projected 55.03% for LTTP. So, uh, yeah. It's
a good combination of spillover and pic factor and maybe some
underestimation of MM. It will be closer than we thought, but I'll be
seriously amazed if Majora actually wins. As votals plunge LTTP ekes

is super effective against Metroid, MM is neutral element and higher
level than LTTP. The contest metagame just keeps evolving |

I was thinking CT's boost was from an across the board SNES boost, not
unqiue to CT. I figured CT got the biggest boost, so CT/LTTP would be

If
theoretically the spillover favors Majora's Mask 65-35 and LttP would
normally win with around 54%, that means you only need a spillover of
about 10,000 votes for Majora's Mask to win. We're already over 1/4th of

need LTTP to win to hold my perfect record for calling matches. As far
as I can remember, I don't think I've been wrong a single time after
calling the match over since I started doing trend projections around
2008. Of course, it helps to be conservative with calling matches. But

Majoras
Mask has everything in its favor here to beat LTTP. It will never get
an opportunity as good as this. Increased vote totals, pic advantage and
OoT in the poll next to it. If it cant pull this off it never will. |

I'll still lean towards LttP, though not confident anymore. I do think this result is largely pic influenced - and very possibly heavy spillover as well- and not indicative of LttP being naturally weak.
