Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. still not convinced. Although I'm not saying Undertale has lost yet
either. I'm not gonna call this one until it's over. If Pokemon does win

The backfire rate will be lower against all of those games though, especially FF7. Plus if Undertale wins this one, it'll pick up even more steam headed into the semifinals. It'll be like John Cena getting his s*** kicked in for 3 RAWs straight and then headed into a big PPV match. You (might) know how that goes. |

I promise I treat every medical thing that way <_< My wife's grandfather passed away this week, and we were doing the unfortunate "cleaning out the apartment" task this morning. One of the old things of food was open, and loaded with dead maggots and spiders and such. Everyone was freaking out and I'm sitting there like "yeah this looks awesome but I've seen worse". Nurses are not normal human beings, I'm telling you. This is bad. It's settled at cuts of just under 100 per update, which is well over the rate and gives it a win by like 2k Pokemon needs to get some votes fast. --- Such a lust for revenge |

I honestly have hard time believing Melee will fare better than pokemon. Melee barely won against CT and it was thanks to rallies against a game that had almost no rally potential. Melee pretty much lost arround the globe while Undertale gets half the map. Sure, most of the votes come from USA, but the "stray votes" will favour Undertale, something that it did not against pokemon because pokemon natural fanbase is much bigger than Melee. If Undertale wins against pokémon, it will win the contest. |

Unless it's LttP instead of Ocarina, because of the SNES boost. That's FIVE different games with a realistic chance of winning, in the final 16. Six, if you want count at the start of the round and include Chrono Trigger. When was the last time a contest was this unpredictable? 2002? |

That probably didn't really get that many more pokemon votes than undertale |

I highly doubt Undertale can beat OoT to win the contest. With Melee, first don't take FF7 for granted. Melee vs. Undertale - Melee should have a lower backfire rate than Pokemon. But it should be able to rally harder. Net effect? Who knows. There's lots of uncertainty here. People always massive underrate how random these matches are.
