Yes that's what kills the games. In Mario World the evening time was actually getting less votes overall but Undertale was maintaining the same intake while Mario World died because it was running out of GameFAQs visitors. That's why it's the worst from 4 PM onward since the GameFAQs votes have dried up by then It's the same reason yesterday was so steady with Melee gaining around +100 an hour even as rally votes spiked up from 500 to 1500 and then back down to 600/hr. The rally votes yesterday followed the same time schedule as Gamefaqs votes, so CT fought the increase in the rally with more Gamefaqs votes, and then couldn't take advantage of the rally weakening because Gamefaqs intake was also weakening. By the time the Reddit rally finally fell off the top spots, natural vote intake for CT was already less than 100/update, even at 61/39 or more, and it couldn't do much. --- September 1, 2003; November 4, 2007; September 2, 2013 NEVER FORGET. |
Melee could certainly be potentially rallied to beat FFVII. Against OoT it will get SFFed and the rallies will have a much higher backfire rate. --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] |

For me it's because CT was an underdog itself coming into this contest, which is kind of a weird thing to say about the #1 seed. It stunk it up in 2009 and its characters have been looking pretty terrible, so for CT to put on two dominating performances and then destroy FFX like it did, it would've been pretty damn amazing to see CT pull off the unthinkable and beat both FF7 and OoT to win it all. That FFX match gave CT an insane amount of hype, and from what other people have said without rallies it would've beat down Melee pretty hard as well. CT winning the whole contest would've been a hell of a thing to watch, especially to see it take out three of the site's biggest behemoths in FF7, RBY, and OoT along the way. I sent an ask to a popular Homestuck tumblr to spread the Undertale rally. Unfortunately the guy hasn't posted quite often the past few months so this is quite a gamble. But if he does post... there is a lot of overlap between the Homestuck and Undertale fandoms that could be harnessed. I don't know any other popular Tumblrs though, I only go to the site to read the 3-4 Homestuck ones I care about. |

Yeah,
CT losing sucked because it was looking beastly and would have set up
some great future matches: CT/FF7, CT/RBY, and potentially CT/OOT. The
Melee rally robbed us of those amazing match ups. If Melee just rolls
over and dies next round to FF7, it'll be a shame. --- The present is a gift and I just want to be |

CT
could have faced FFX, Melee, FFVII, RBY, and OOT - such a perfect
gauntlet of our strong games. I can accept that it would probably have
lost to OOT, especially if OOT rallied. This Melee thing could work if only it could stand up to OOT. If it rallied its way to a contest championship that wouldn't be so bad, especially if it got CT #2 in the stats.
