Pokemon may fail, but there is HOPE http://i.imgur.com/3zPDbkA.jpg when all hope is lost a Hero is found --- satoru iwata |
False Hope Is Still Hope --- Goddamn Chrono Trigger |
Link can crush this 2AM 70% --- satoru iwata |
Undertale's
GameFAQs strength is increasing off the charts at this point. I'd be
kind of surprised if OoT was even doubling it at the freeze by the time
the finals happen. --- Goddamn Chrono Trigger |
It's over. --- ok. |
Can we somehow resurrect the Twitch Plays Pokemon hivemind and get it behind RBY today? Now there was a captive audience if ever I've seen one. --- ~C~ Eff_Dee http://i.imgur.com/dGDfxaw.png |
I'm telling you GameFAQs is going to unite is after this it's like Draven! --- satoru iwata |

Is that its gamefaqs strength increasing or Undertale fans getting smart and being on the site ready before a rally is even posted? |
Part of me wants to see Undertale vs League of Legends in the bonus poll. |
nopenopenopenop posted... Part of me wants to see Undertale vs League of Legends in the bonus poll. No point. League fans are not going to rally behind a pointless poll. If League was in this contest from the outset then it would crush Undertale like a bug. (edited 12/8/2015 12:04:56 AM)report |

This
game has only sold 425k according to steam spy (don't know how reliable
that is). Are an eighth of the people who've played this game really
coming out to vote for it? League is probably the most popular game in the world, so the Draven stuff made sense. But this is just so bizarre. --- twitch.tv/bonedragons |
Karma Hunter posted... Undertale's GameFAQs strength is increasing off the charts at this point. I'd be kind of surprised if OoT was even doubling it at the freeze by the time the finals happen. That's true. This is a game that would have probably gotten somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20% against Mario World in a quiet GameFAQs-only poll (and that 20% is being generous). Sure, people may hate it more now, but a seething anti-vote counts exactly the same against it as a vote of complete indifference. For every swarm of new anti-voters, there could be a few new supporters who like the chaos that it's causing. Hell, it may have double the GameFAQs strength that it did a month ago. --- http://i.imgur.com/gByqgPg.gif |
I'm
guessing a pretty decent fraction of the votes are from people who
haven't played it but like the "plucky underdog" story or who just say
"sure, okay" when someone they're following asks them to take five
seconds and vote, --- I don't know how much you know about women, but Dr. Pizza is an expert. - The Mana Sword |
I legit f***ing hate undertale now. --- "I'll admit that I made one or two sarcastic remarks in this topic, but in all serious I akin Undertale to fascism." -ArgaiRonso |
backinblack167 posted... League is probably the most popular game in the world, so the Draven stuff made sense. But this is just so bizarre. Rallies are easy when you can get thousands of them centralized in one place. Doesn't have to be as big as League. Well, that and our pitiful voting population size. --- satoru iwata |
I
dunno, I think it's a pretty big thing that none of the subreddit
rallies have gained any traction whatsoever. In fact, they were all
hilarious failures. If what Allen said about Reddit accounting for a
large portion of the last match is true, Undertale might have lost quite
a bit of support when people wake up in the morning and don't see a
rally at the top of the subreddit. --- **R.O.B.A.Z.O.I.D** (edited 12/8/2015 12:09:25 AM)report |

I have never been more disappointed in people in my life All this talk about big backfire rate, tumblr loves Pokemon etc Made me think like they are people with brains, with opinions, that they are not mindless drones that vote Undertale because some cis asks them to vote Undertale So let's go ahead and rally Pokemon on tumblr too, it will work because we ask them and they will do what we say --- 3DS FC : 3411-1762-0066 |
That's
how bandwagons work. Same thing happened with L-Block. The more
unexpected results happen, the more people want to join in and root for
it. People love a feel good underdog story. That's why Undertale was lucky it got something like Mass Effect 3 first, something that wasn't just too far out of its league to beat because of how late the rally started. If you put Undertale against ME3 right now, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't need rallying to win. --- http://i.imgur.com/3DwCNLJ.gif (edited 12/8/2015 12:12:54 AM)report |
I'm
guessing the reddit rally last time was probably responsible for like
10-15% of the rallied votes. Tumblr was definitely the largest source,
though. --- I don't know how much you know about women, but Dr. Pizza is an expert. - The Mana Sword |
You
should never rely on a backfire rate in a rally. I mean Link didn't
stay competitive against Draven on a backfire rate alone. --- satoru iwata (edited 12/8/2015 12:11:23 AM)report |
Vote totals for the past few updates: 466 508 478 482 446 419 432 410 377 370 Pretty steep dropoff. --- If all else fails use fire. |

I do not own UT. But I've seen multiplay playthroughs on both youtube and twitch. I am probably not alone in a growing culture of watching other people play games as a form of entertainment. My enjoyment of UT through other players was not enough to get me to pick it over pokemon, mind you, but it would have probably earned my vote against some lesser games. I just think it's worth remembering that sales are not the final word in measuring a game's exposure and audience size. --- ~C~ Eff_Dee http://i.imgur.com/dGDfxaw.png |
RBY's been stalling lately. Better than bleeding, but not good enough if it wants a shot at this. --- I don't know how much you know about women, but Dr. Pizza is an expert. - The Mana Sword |

If what Allen said about Reddit accounting for a large portion of the last match is true, Undertale might have lost quite a bit of support when people wake up in the morning and don't see a rally at the top of the subreddit. There is still the possibility some subreddit mod decides to make things easier with a sticky. But I do think the reddit attempts have all been hilarious nonstarters so far :D --- ~C~ Eff_Dee http://i.imgur.com/dGDfxaw.png |

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me. Undertale fans are super intense and half of them heard of it through tumblr. But remember that Undertale is a PC game, hence rampant piracy (and DRM free, to boot), and that it's a darling of Let's Players. Its sales figures dramatically underestimate its strength. |

good
news is that by the time Undertale has wrecked everyone's childhood the

Forceful_Dragon posted... There is still the possibility some subreddit mod decides to make things easier with a sticky. well, I'd like to assume Undertale's reddit mods aren't nearly as dumb as League of Legends' reddit mods, to the point where they can get tricked multiple times |
Forceful_Dragon posted... Can we somehow resurrect the Twitch Plays Pokemon hivemind and get it behind RBY today? Well, twitch plays pokemon is still (kinda) a thing, currently betting on random PBR matches with voted on music, and Undertale music is quite popular there, also the contest was posted in the chat on undertale matches.. There are not many people online usually (~200 mostly), but a quite a few would probably vote Undertale |

Yeah,
this is about where SMW started taking over again. RBY's in a
marginally better position, but this looks as if it's going to follow
the same overall pattern. --- Goddamn Chrono Trigger |
and "marginally better" does not translate to "definitely able to perform 10k votes better than SMW did". But we can hope! --- ~C~ Eff_Dee http://i.imgur.com/dGDfxaw.png |

like Pokemon is only at 56% in the U.S. and in the U.K. Not sure it can
