You're acting like Melee would stand a chance against OoT. Even if it took out undertale with super rallies...OoT's backfire rate will be ridiculously high on Smash fans. OoT is one of the most universally respected Nintendo games. It's very very difficult to vote against it. Unless you don't care(so only undertale can take it out or a Super sayain 4 Chrono) I think OOT would beat Melee, even with this rallying. But I was talking about my rooting interests. I'll root for OOT because it's one of my favorite games and I derive great pleasure from Link winning every year (though actually, he hasn't won a proper contest since 2010!) It
seems obvious that Melee has this in the bag. I wish that Melee had a
bigger lead though. If Melee is going to ruin the year of Chrono
Trigger, it should just win the whole contest to make up for it. I

agree with everyone saying Link is behind these rallies. He needs a
game to take Undertale, Chrono Trigger and FF7 out of this side of the
bracket. It was tough to find such a game, but in Melee he's found the
perfect candidate. Melee can do Links dirty work before completely
folding against OoT in the final. What a plan! |

CT
fans need to stop moping and just rally. That r/JRPG thread should have
been put up way sooner. The contests aren't "pure" of rallies, they
never have been, fight fire with fire. It is not beneath you to rally.
This would be a damn good finish if CT fans put up some effort like the
old days. Mario would have f***ing crushed Crono if people didn't

is Chrono Trigger is very hard to rally for. Melee has an active
community and pretty much everyone has played it where as only a
hardcore gamer would know what Chrono Trigger even is. Some people might

Right, but CT's natural strength is wide enough that you could rally less than 10% of what Melee is rallying and still win. There are indirect methods of rallying. crazy thing is this match is going to break 70000 votes, which would be
higher than almost every match in the contest besides a small handful

I
didn't think that this rally would bother me any more than it did when I
went to bed at 2 AM in the heat of it, but now it managed to find a
way. It was bad enough when I was expecting a blowout of impossible
proportions that could only be achieved by a rally. But now it's
stupidly close and most likely gonna end in a situation where CT looks like it can bring it back but will fall short at the end, leaving us with more false hope and broken dreams. Even though I don't play JRPGs and don't care about CT and I rank SSBM in my top 4 games of all time, I still hate the way this happened today. Maybe it's just because Melee is closer to me but this almost feels worse than what Undertale did. It should either be winning on natural strength or not winning at all. I'm rooting for CT to come back and take it just so we can return to the normal results that should have happened in the first place. --- Hey man, LlamaGuy did encrypt the passwords. With what? Believe me, I've tried to rally on Facebook, Instagram and even asked my gf to rally on Twitter/Facebook/tumblr. Chrono Trigger is not as well known as Melee and the backfire rate is high because of that. --- Formerly known as Dilated Chemist |

Has
somebody tried to do a stealth rally on FF's subreddit. Ask people to
vote for their favorite FF and throw in a "and hey, maybe help out
Chrono Trigger also!". I'm sure they'd favor it over Melee. |

A ton of people have heard of CT. More so than say your xenogears and suikodens and games like that. Casual? probably not but outside of gamefaqs and on most core game sites Chrono trigger is a well known game. Is it as popular? no but it's well respected. Gamefaqs is the source for the single largest CT fanbase but it's widely respected game. I use sites like Gamespot (where it's 10x bigger than Gamefaqs) and CT is well spoken of. are avenues not taken yet. /v/ has a lot of CT fans and a rally pitched
the right way would gain traction. Then post that rally to the 4chan
subreddit which has double the activity of the Smash sub. Squirtle >

This
kind of reminds me of the rallies games did to get into Evo 2013. The
communities had to raise money for breast cancer awareness and the
community that raised the most money for the charity got to be on the
main stage at Evo. Melee won by raising $94,683, skullgirls was in
second with 74K IIRC. If you think these rallies are crazy you should have seen those lmao. The skullgirls fans had the creators do long live streams and events where the VAs would attend and talk to people over calls and stuff to raise money.
