Was it ever calculated how many votes Melee pulled in from the rally against GSC? It should get significantly more in this match since it was winning in the GSC match. |

I think this also just put the world of all punctures into our CT hype. Okay, I agree that CT probably beats OoT on GameFAQs. ...so what? CT is going 50/50 right with the r/smashbros subreddit. Here's how the smash rally will work if it takes off: Reddit rally first. This will be the normal rally/somewhat small. Melee won't touch CT with this, but it'll help a bit. Smashboards rally: This is what will be devastating if it starts. Front page of smashboards reaches over 200k smashers. Twitter/FB both have 50k+ followers. Top players rally: This will make melee beat any other rally. Some of the top melee players have twitter followers up to 300 thousand, even the semi-pros have 20kish followers. Just having Mango/M2K alone tweet out would push insane vote totals to melee. The problem with all of this: Melee can easily beat CT with a rally. Most people would want it to beat Undertale though not CT. Melees rally strength will be BY FAR the strongest the first time it's rallied on smashboards. I doubt smashboards will make more than one front page post about it(I'm an admin on smashboards so I pretty much know this), though it might tweet out about it. Top players will likely only tweet about it once. So once it goes up against undertale it's rally strength will be a lot lower than the first time it's rallied. From the looks of it, the rally didn't kick in until some point after 6:00 AM, so we have a pretty good non-rally time period to base my calculations on. I'll be using the vote totals at the 6:00 AM mark to figure out what our actual vote totals would have been without the rally, then make an assumption on Melee's actual percentage without the rally.
