The problem is that reddit rallies (depending on the subreddit) don't just ebb when they're done. This same post could pick up serious steam in the morning. Gamefaqs votes work the same way, but based on past experience with reddit rallies, they never quite get back to the strength they have in the first 1-2 hours. Draven's best daytime hours against Link, for instance, were less than half what he was getting in the first 2 hours. This may surprise people, but this rally, over the past hour, has brought in an estimated 1800 or so extra votes, about 60% of what Draven was bringing in during his big afternoon push against Link. --- September 1, 2003; November 4, 2007; September 2, 2013 NEVER FORGET. |

So rooted in tradition with 4 way, 3 way contests, with joke characters winning. Yeppp. It's always been stated in the rules that rallies can happen and should be thought about when doing up your bracket. Now I don't think Ceej ever foresaw something like Undertale or Draven or L-block wrecking a contest on an extremely concentrated rally, and that kinda sucks imo, but ever since the beginning rallies have been a huge part of these contests. Legit strength games have always won from rallies.
