So Shadow of the Colossus didn't pull off the upset. has a chance in that I don't really understand why ANY people prefer it
in the first place, so there's a possibility that it'll win the
intra-SFF battle between it and its superior eldest brother if my read

really dislike the methodology and sample size on that list, but even
putting that aside it has intra-series results that just have no chance
of happening. GSC > RBY? Metroid Prime > Super Metroid? FFT >
FFIX? SM64 > OoT here we come! --- Goddamn Ocarina of Time |

Boss probably isn't too far in strength from 2004 Snake at this point,
which would probably say good things about the chances of MGS3 >
MGS1. The Luigi/Big Boss/Ness day match with huge Big Boss support
outside North America suggests he's worth over 47% on Luigi in a fair 24

mean while Big Boss's strength means decent things for MGS3, it's not
like he doesn't benefit heartily from the Smash thing either. It's not a
pure referendum on MGS3. And even if only MGS1 and MGS3 existed I can't
see BB in for anything other than the SFF beating of his life at the

MGS1
has easily taken care of a very game opponent with a picture advantage.
I have to give it the natural strength advantage against MGS3 (and
that, coupled with this Mass Effect 2 flub, hilariously suggests that Earthbound might be able to beat any non-Skyrim, non-bigNintendo game from 2009-2015. I'll still give MGS3 a shot next round because matches that SFF-heavy are weird and because there is potential for big picture advantage (which might sway things MORE in such a huge SFF match), but at this point, I'm glad I switched to the original MGS. --- http://i.imgur.com/gByqgPg.gif |

was already sad how fast ME2 got buried by MGS3, but the fact that it's
completely derping around with this day vote makes it an easy "turd of

called MGS3/ME2 a toss-up, what the hell is this. This result is so
weird. Even if ME2 loses it shouldn't be by this much. So... BioShock is totally legit and Silent Hill 2 probably aint half bad either. Mass Effect isprobably not really weaker than its sequel. --- My old signature was really outdated. I haven't thought of a proper new one yet. |

There's an extent to which high placement there was reflective of actual contest strength but then there's stuff that wasn't right at all like San Andreas being 11th. But at least since I started following the stats topic in 2010, it hasn't been taken very seriously. I dunno if this meets the smell test. It's very hard for me to imagine
Bioshock giving ME2 a 60/40 thrashing. I think that one would be a

This
result for MGS1 puts it in striking distance to lose to MGS3 next
round. It's still the projected favorite, but not by much, and if any
weird rSFF stuff rears its head then it be easy to flip the result. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

Actually...MGS1
is in serious trouble. We know that Shadow of the Colossus' result
against MGS3 last contest was inflated due to the bandwagon, and that
its true strength is being about equal to MGS2. So I readjusted the
stats based on MGS2/RE4, and that ends up with: Metal Gear Solid: 42.56% Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 42.30% If MGS1 falls any more during the day vote, it'll actually be projected to outright lose to MGS3. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |
