Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. Hmm,
actually suddenly looking pretty optimistic for Skyrim if it can string
together cuts and stalls based on the previous rounds' trends. The
Metroid Prime tank was actually an all day freefall, and Western games

definitely has a strong case for #2 right now unfortunately it's not
really going to have a clear match against any of its competitors. It

Skyrim
wins easily. This is Metroid Prime's godly early vote vs. a Western
game early vote and if that wasn't enough, the tumblr spillover would
absolutely favor Prime. This doesn't look close by the end. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

I've reviewed the logs over the past few hours and there's absolutely no funny business going on here. We've seen people rallying in roughly equal numbers from rallies on tumblr, reddit, and 4chan. This isn't a group of hackers trying to mess with our contest, it's a shared love for a new and popular game across multiple fanbases. Undertale isn't exactly a trivial game, like some seem to believe. It's the 33rd most played Steam game right now. It was higher seeded than ME3 because it had more nominations and higher reviews and traffic. It's a bit of a surprise to most people (I picked ME3 in my bracket), but really maybe it shouldn't have been. Don't forget, rallies are to be expected, and are even covered in the contest description: "This is not a contest to see which game is your favorite, or even which one is the best rated. It's all a big popularity contest, and visitors who have never visited GameFAQs before will be sure to stop in and vote." --- No amount of rallying would let me beat raytan7585.
