See it's updates like that that make Undertale's rally different to Draven's. Now don't get me wrong, Link was making even bigger gains than that during the match with Draven, but that was the result of a heavy counter-rally which Mario isn't getting to the same degree. I feel like Draven on LSD or Draven vs. Jak/Chie or World Championships Draven would never allow Mario to make such a significant gain. The people who say "lol, you don't think Undertale will win? People said that about Draven before the Link match, lmao when will you learn" or even the earlier post about "Mass Effect was supposed to stop it, Fallout was supposed to stop it, Mario was supposed to stop it" aren't discerning between the two situations at all. Wasn't Link's counter-rallying much later in the match? I was under the impression that Link's morning cutting which was substantial was mostly the Draven rally not being around/awake and Link basically facing off against "base" Draven and destroying him. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? |

England was unable to qualify for the Euro Cup once because it lost to some other European country. Of course people in England would have been upset but they wouldn't have gone on the streets/message boards complaining 'England lost what the f***'. Its just a matter of group of friends saying 'Damn England couldn't qualify'. So again, this contest and underdogs winning in a sport are two different things. |
Sports
is a bad analogy because it's a team putting in their all to win vs. a
popularity contest. There's no real comparison. It's like comparing

Well, if you're saying Mario couldn't cut on Draven in the morning like Link did, I just have to disagree. It's not like Draven rally was overwhelming 24/7. Wasn't Link's counter-rallying much later in the match? Yeah, Link cut 3200 with the morning/downtime. Then Draven gained 2300 with his afternoon rally before Link cut off 4500 with his counterrally. --- September 1, 2003; November 4, 2007; September 2, 2013 NEVER FORGET. |

counterrally was something else though. He went straight from losing
1000 votes an hour to gaining 1000 votes an hour. At its peak Link

I don't get it. Do you act this incredulous on purpose? You're trying
to paint a picture of Undertale's run as this legendary and heroic
thing, saying before this match it'd take a small "miracle" for it to
win. But what's so legendary or miraculous about it? A meme generator
like Undertale is perfect for sites like Tumblr and Reddit. Two sites
that are very popular, and have proven to be very effective for
rallying. You keep pushing a narrative that Undertale fans are so sincere and wonderful. As if they just want to come together and spread the love of their game to the world. Yet I don't know how many Tumblr and Reddit posts I've seen that talk about enjoying the GameFAQs tears -- or something to that effect. And, yes, a part of it is genuinely liking the game, but another part of it is "lol wouldn't it be funny if we beat Mario." Like any other fanbase, there are plenty of s***lords. And there's no doubt that plenty of them just think it'd be funny for Undertale to win. --- Next year, you'll wish you had started today. |
