So in the hypothetical unlikely scenario where SMW manages to beat Undertale, does it get a savior boost? I think probably not, because the site at large probably doesn't recognize Undertale for the threat to win the contest that it is yet. So far, it's beaten 2 modern WRPGs. tbh, considering that RBY is here, you could rally for Pokemon and help Mario World I'd even go so far as to suggest you might even rally Sonic and help it too |
So hey, remember how the rallying for Starcraft and Mass Effect 2 both benefited Bioshock against MGS3? Anyone desperate enough to rally for Sonic and Pokemon to try to help Mario indirectly? SMW
is impossible to rally for. Its fans know its good and they dont need
to confirm that by pushing it on other people. Its also old so finding a
dedicated community is impossible. Undertale is the opposite. It appeals to the general tumblr fanbase that needs to push its ideals and values onto other people. Its a game for depressed people who need feels. |

SMW still has a chance, but if the extra early vote totals are a harbinger, the Tumblr rally will hit very hard tomorrow. Also Link was being rallied. People only perceived Draven as weaker because they tried to apply our x-stats to Reddit. But Reddit rallied Draven harder vs. Link than against MMX/Ryu. Draven scored almost the same number of votes despite a vastly higher backfire rate. This notion of round 2 Draven being so strong is a myth. But this doesn't apply to Undertale - it will gain strength. Our only realistic hopes of stopping it after SMW are Pokemon and OoT. Chrono Trigger may be the #2 game here now, but it's hard to see it having a decent backfire rate. Undertale fans might be more likely to know it than the average Tumblr user, but they are likely still too young to have played it. is struggling to get above 40% updates. Still really good for early in
the match, but we won't see any serious s*** go down until tomorrow, it

me on this - I'm pretty sure the LoL world tournament was going on at
the time and different days had different spikes in traffick to the
subreddit because of it. Undertale is (probably) going to be more
consistent, even if it'll rise each round. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

But the world championships were basically going on the entire time. It was volatile within each match because of how the games were going. The official mod endorsed rally post that went up during the Snake match had sharp drop offs and spikes in vote totals for Draven because subreddit traffic would drop off when a Worlds match was currently happening at the time and then traffic would spike up again when a match ended. At 1:30: SMW/Undertale - 8648 FFVII/SSBWU - 6598 We have over 2000 votes more than the FFVII match yesterday now. Let's see what happens if those votes are splitting 80/20 for Undertale: If the 2050 extra votes over yesterday are splitting 80/20 for Undertale, then remove them and SMW is winning on Gamefaqs with 5054 to 1544 (76.60%). With yesterday's improved round 3 votals of 47118, that leads to an SMW win by 25067 on Gamefaqs if the percentages stay the same. To overcome that margin with rallied votes with a 20% backfire rate, Undertale would need to bring in 41778 votes. Last round, the Undertale/Fallout match scored......42528 more votes than the FFVII/Halo match the day before it! I were an Undertale fan I'd seriously be worried about how vicious
Pokemon has looked, along with its ability to benefit from your rally.
