went toe to toe with Melee in the year most advantageous to Square,
before the Nintendo boost even happened. Melee was probably the single
biggest beneficiary of that boost. I wouldn't touch that FFX/Melee match

FFX looked equal to Melee in 2010. This just isn't the same FF10. No way the previous FF10 fails to double Half-Life 1. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

Regardless
of what I hope people jokingly say, if FFX had beaten out Majora's Mask
it would have gone on to go 50/50 with and possibly win against Brawl. ...that doesn't mean it was stronger than Melee in GOTD, but it's done too much in previous contests to write it off as some overrated fraud. --- Welcome to the League of Stickies. |

Let's
wait until CT/Melee before we make any definitive conclusions about

most surprising part of the day for me was checking yesterday's match
and seeing Bioshock Vs. MGS3 almost as close as Mass Effect Vs.
Starcraft wtf happened there. MGS3 isn't the kind of game I'd expect to see that kind of epic collapse from --- A refusal of praise is a desire to be praised twice. |

CT/FFX probably ends at around 65%. Europe's gonna make this look a little better. Melee's already pulling 57% updates (though that one was better) and should fall off pretty good soon, so I'm expecting some trends very similar to GSC. --- xyzzy |

wouldn't be surprised if KHII could kick FFX's ass at this point. The
Final Mix version finally got released in North America, and people are
realizing how amazing the game really is when you crank up the
difficulty and actually find a reason to use all of your battle options.
And that post-game... Meanwhile, FFX got two rereleases in the span of two years, but I don't hear any extra buzz for the game at all. --- Video game companies don't care about you, so stop kissing their asses |

Well, the same sort of thing happened in 2004. Look at several of the games from the last division. There are a lot of games from Division 128 that ranked really high. http://www.gamefaqscontests.com/drupal/node/15 11 of the top 20 games are from Division 128. Maybe Melee overperformed on FFVII?
