consistent. we could map these two matches these hour by hour, side by

Maybe KH2 (which Bioshock lost to) underperformed on TP in GOTD? If it snags a comparable number on Melee I'd suspect it. I don't know why that would be the case so I'd just say MGS3 sucks right now but hey at least SotC might suck more --- Welcome to the League of Stickies. |

Yeah, Bioshock proved it was decently strong in GOTD. It got 43% on KH2. It's not like MGS3 is struggling to beat fodder. Still a bad showing if you were expecting it to be the strongest MGS or something. --- Leonhart posting from his phone |

wrote about this for the crew today - I've been impressed by everything
KH2 has done. I'm down on it in general because it's attached to

KH2 can go out and hit a super good number later it'll really
reestablish my faith in the whole RE4/MGS3 debacle. Well, to an extent.
But if you're a believer in the games being relatively static, RE4 >~
MGS3, and Bioshock >>> Bioshock Infinite, KH2 is your keystone

have no faith in RDR. None. I definitely wouldn't take it over
Earthbound this contest, no way no how no chance, and I'd have taken

Man I hope it doesn't do that augh I have Melee in the finals But I'm just saying, the better KH2 does, the better Bioshock looks (and thus MGS3), assuming you think that match would go roughly the same as it did in GOTD. Depends on if the Melee rally happens again... probably does considering there was like zero reason to rally against GSC and it still happened. much of a rally is there for Melee? I missed it in the match because it
was already blowing out GSC. I boldly took Melee to the finals as well,
but I've lost confidence in it even beating CT. Should I keep the

You
can't really count Melee out of the discussion for #2 if it's going to
show up with the strength that broke 60% on GSC in every match from here
on out. That's better than anything else has ever been able to manage,
which isn't cupcakes considering that includes MGS, MM, and even RBY

And Bioshock has been gaining again out of nowhere. Is Mass Effect being rallied elsewhere and we are seeing spillover? haven't seen big Ninty vs big Square yet. Sure CT has looked great, but
there's no reason to lose hope in Melee yet. Now, if FFVI beats the
ever-loving hell out of Wind Waker, that might be the opening salvo of

Well,
Nintendo has made a recent habit out of winning matches against Square
that it really shouldn't win (I think Majora may have been the catalyst
for this, but I'm sure it goes back even further, like when LttP beat
FFVI despite another Zelda in the poll). If FFVI completely ignores that

expectation has been 56-57% for FF6. I don't think I've seen anything
suggesting Wind Waker hangs with something like FF6. I feel like any
hype around those matches seems more based on contests from years ago
and the general Nintendo domination. FF6 has every reason to win that
match, in my mind. It's just a bigger, more popular game than Wind

Replace with: Majora's Mask Nintendo winning in such situations has probably happened more times than not over the last five years. Majora in 2010. The trainers over Cloud/Seph in 2011. The entire FFVII roster being decimated by Pokemon in 2013 (we thought it was a good result when Sephiroth survived Kirby, and then he got beat by a Pokemon in the next round anyway). I completely agree that FFVI will be the favorite in a couple days and should win, but it'll be a good gauge for the rest of the bracket. If it wins easily, then perhaps Square will hold its own against Nintendo better than it has in years.
