let's go with stars: 1. Starcraft 2. Super Metroid 3. Skyrim 4. Chrono Trigger 5. FF7 hm: Metroid Prime, FF6, DKC2 turds: 1, Metal Gear Solid 3 2. Ocarina 3. FFX 4. Mass Effect 2 5. Resident Evil 4 who knows: Pokemon RBY Undertale Melee? I'm really not sure what to say about Starcraft/ME2 so I'm putting them in both categories for now. this isn't THAT much of an overperformance though. --- xyzzy |

don't think Mass Effect 2 is a turd, even if it stays like this. It's
just Starcraft being the star really. I kind of want to put Chrono
Trigger as a star again. Sonic 2 maybe, it did better than expected even

Starcraft
is getting stronger updates, you can call the rally weak or whatever,
but it's definitely having an impact. Swinging back this many votes is

It's
not that weak. Without it the match would presumably still be around

transience posted... maybe. Starcraft has a notorious night vote though. this is probably the difference between a 50/50 match and a 51/49 match. Well, the thread has around 100 upvotes (who all presumably voted for SC), and I don't think 10-1 voting to upvoting is that unreasonable. It's possible that it only pulled in like 500 or something I guess, but there was a noticeable uptick in Starcraft's vote intake once it got around the top of the subreddit. it's
hard to draw conclusions. I see that we've got about 2k votes over last
week's match. it also looks like it's the highest scoring match but
only by about 200 votes. I do think it's having an effect but it's hard
to say what the impact is. I'm like 95% confident that Starcraft has this though. --- xyzzy |

The
natural votes should be even more in ME2's favor. If we removed the
rally right now, it would definitely be cutting. Realistically though,

Someone is doing a terrible job at stuffing. There's no vote stuffing going on here. Stars: 90's games, Undertale, Tumblr corruption of Undertale matches (augh on that last one) Turd: MGS series maybe? Not_Wylvane posted... I love how having only three old contests to go off of means everyone's constantly surprised by how radically different game strengths are in this new demographic. How has it been more surprising than a standard contest? Almost all contests have surprises, this one doesn't seen abnormal. My bracket is fairly cookie and it's only a couple point off the leaderboard. I bet the Guru cookie would be pretty close too. In absolute terms, scores aren't low. I'd say this has been a lot easier to predict than four-ways and three-ways, and more fun too, because multi-ways suck. Unpredictability is only good if it's free; multi-way unpredictability is not free. In terms of pre-contest expectations, ours were pretty good. The vote removal is just a GameFAQs glitch I think. Someone could ask Allen, but he probably wouldn't know what causes it. seems pretty obvious that they are removing a few votes to me if you
consider when it happens and for what game. It's happened in a few
matxhes before but not in most of them. Only the ones where you'd think

That you would actually vote that s*** over the awesome sauce that is earthbound is just sad and pathetic. PKY. Achromatic posted... Metal Gear Solid isn't winning by enough. Not because I have a great love for MGS mind you, but because Earthbound is such trash. It beating Borderlands 2 last round, while great for my bracket, was disgusting.
