But if MGS goes on to look decent I'm not buying it having increased that much - I'd rather partially attribute a hardcore EB/Mother 3 fanbase or pic factor or Weekend After Thanksgiving Factor than that kind of ridiculous strength. Well, of all the old games between 2009/10 and now, EarthBound got released in the US and EU for the first time since it came out. And then Nintendo released the original game on the NES for the first time, made a big deal of it at E3, and generally has acknowledged and pushed the game since. On top of that, you have a way smaller voting pool of older, mid-20s types, and old school games thriving so all that mixed together seems like a good recipe for success. --- satoru iwata |
I legitimately don't think MGS3 would be doing any better here than ME2 is If Starcraft is back to 2004 levels than it's pretty damn strong --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

hey Leon, what happens if we set MGS/SOTC/MGS3/ME2 at 50% and calculate x-stats based off of that I feel like SOTC is pretty clearly the weak link here just because of Bayo2 --- xyzzy |

It didnt win goty like your borderlands or have great showings on polls like red dead. It doesnt have core fanbases like xenoblade. It doesnt have critical respect either like a bioshock or sotc. MGS3
is an amazing game. I loved going all rambo with the camo and eating
system, and it was the only MGS I've played (I admittedly only played
three) that got me really emotional. I think a lot of people simply

the iconic and enduring image of the entire MGS series is Big Boss's
salute at the end of MGS3. It excels at its emotional appeal, and that's
why it's so fondly remembered. It decided to go from trying to blow
your mind at the end of MGS2 to trying to touch your heart at the end of
