Like, I totally understand being disappointed in results, but there were people legitimately steaming about Planescape Torment losing to Smash U. As if that was somehow a surprise or would only happen on GameFAQs. I think when you're a fan of lesser-known titles, it's a good idea to rally for them and help them gain exposure, but actually getting angry when they lose just shows how out-of-whack your expectations are. NiGHTS Into Dreams is my second-favorite game ever, but I'm not going to be angry if it gets wrecked by anything above the fodder line. It's not something I can realistically expect to have a high play rate. --- Now crack that combination: 27 99 23. |

I think the best thing GameFAQs has going for it (even since FAQs became obsolote) is that EVERY game has a message board for it I don't know of any other video game site in the Internet with such a thing Too bad the userbase is pretty small and the message boards suck! DKC2 > SOTN chatter is probably just boredom, but it's silly boredom
nevertheless. DKC2 is just a smidge above Xenoblade and FE:A. Even with
SFF I don't think it'd have a shot in hell of doing what SOTN is doing

Stop pretending that CT has done anything to look like a godslayer. Getting close to 86% against fodder is nice, but Ocarina got 91%. Getting 81% on slightly stronger fodder when the SFF is in your favor isn't impressive at all. CT is certainly strong; far stronger than any of its characters are anymore. gotta tell ya, while I called CT/DQ8 SFF as soon as it happened,
there's a lot of reasons for that not to be the case. I mean, we're
talking about a SNES exclusive game from the 90s against a PS2 exclusive
game from the 00s. Not a lot of reason to blame SFF unless you just
think every JRPG match has SFF, and they clearly don't. But CT would still look better even if you assumed SFF and didn't know it and OoT's contest history. Maybe you can argue that it hasn't busted out anything truly impressive, but it hasn't gone out and disappointed like OoT is today, either. --- Welcome to the League of Stickies. |

DKC2 will handily outperform Banjo. The reverse just wouldn't make any sense at all. Banjo isn't a small fry, but DKC2 is the pinnacle of Donkey Kong and Rareware alike (GoldenEye notwithstanding). should be significantly stronger than Banjo-Kazooie. I would've said

Both
games have the same character designer, the same director, and one even
has an entire section in the middle that's basically an homage to the
other series. Granted, I can see all of that being meaningless considering the vast majority of votes from both games would just be casuals who don't care or even realize such things. can see CT/DQ8 being SFF, sure, because I don't think there's any way
in hell Suikoden II beats DQ8, and certainly not enough for OoT > CT

If CT actually gets to OoT, can you imagine how much bandwagon support it would have? Really, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is the year OoT loses. It beats FFVII without much trouble, I assume. But rally/bandwagon-boosted Undertale, Pokemon RBGY and/or Chrono Trigger could at least put the fear of God in it, if not win outright. --- Now crack that combination: 27 99 23. |
