Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. transience posted... anyway, people calling for Smash 4 > Brawl are clearly wrong - that game looks to be only slightly above Galaxy 2 and probably weaker than Galaxy. FF7 should go to town next round on it. The sad thing about Smash 4 is those who have played it generally seem to agree the game is better than Brawl. And yet that probably won't translate into contest strength despite being a more well liked game than Brawl. Ganondorf
paced the champion's box, furtively glancing at the stadium entrances.
He had been ordered to come here tonight, but he hoped he would not
have to subject himself to abject humiliation. Maybe the champion would
not show up- he hadn't attended any match so far except for his own,
after all. Ganondorf groaned as he caught sight of that horrible green
tunic that haunted all his dreams. Ganondorf sighed as he lay himself
facedown on the floor in front of the champion's chair. Link stepped upon Ganondorf's body and hoisted himself into the champion's high seat. To Ganon's dismay, Link kept his feet resting atop Ganondorf's body. He would be used as a footstool for the duration of the match, it appeared. The festive crowd slowly fell silent as they saw who sat in the champion's seat. Out on the field, Cloud saw. This was a surprise. He had thought that the One no longer thought of him as a rival, that he was no longer worthy of any attention. Why had Link come tonight? Was he simply bored, and wanted to see some fighting? Smash
4 has already exceeded the maximum lead that Galaxy 2 managed to get
against Mass Effect and it's only the 20 minute mark so far. Galaxy 2
maxed out at 265 and I think Smash 4 has the strength to extend its
current lead even farther to put a comeback out of reach through normal

just gonna set them equal. RE4 was right next to TP in some of those
fourways (I don't think there was any overlap except maybe MGS3/RE4?
honestly I barely remember) I think FF6 wins like 54-46 next round. as this match plays out, it probably gets more clear. Wind Waker's a fine upset to take though. --- xyzzy |
