Guess both Halo and GTA are still extremely hated on GameFAQs. It's just that AC and CoD are hated even more. While we're at it, we may as well call WoW hated if it loses like this to Chrono Cross--a game itself that has a significant number of haters. --- Ole, ole, ole, ole. Ole! Ole! Most people who voted probably haven't played either. But they're more likely to vote for CC because it's a Square RPG. Usually when I vote on a match where I haven't played either, I vote for the one I think I would like more. Or that's from a genre that I enjoy more. And Gamefaqs voters would definitely prefer CC to WOW. Also the Chrono name helps quite a bit, otherwise it would probably be as strong as Legend of Dragoon or Legend of Legaia. |

I'd say it's more likely it'll be like Skyrim and we'll see the real strength a little while from now once the board vote dies. Will it beat SMRPG? Probably not. But it'll look more respectable than it does now. |

I don't know what to think of any of these results. Shenmue might be the strongest we've ever seen it, which isn't saying much, because of Shenmue 3 hype. Oblivion has probably significantly weakened. Shovel Knight - who knows? WoW is probably weak as hell now too, so is this even good for Cross? (edited 11/16/2015 9:13:34 PM)report |

I struggled choosing between between Metal Gear Solid 2 and Super Mario RPG in the division finals, but finally went with MGS2 (mostly because I thought MGSV would boost the whole series). I also doubt Shovel Knight is fodder. That campaign to get him in Sm4sh
snowballed into something surprisingly big - I feel like this gave the
game itself a lot of extra exposure. GTAV definitely looks like more of an embarrassment than San Andreas. --- JAK The Character Battle IX people's champ. |

SMRPG
is strong. It put up 33% on Chrono Trigger, in the same year that SMW
only put up 41%, and it has great reason to have suffered extensive SFF. Also, winning GOTD for the 00's is less impressive than winning a random year's GOTY in the 90s. 90, 91, 92, 95, 96, 97, and 98 all have games that would beat Majora's Mask. --- September 1, 2003; November 4, 2007; September 2, 2013 NEVER FORGET. |

Man, it sucks to get Oblivion wrong here...just hope it's not gonna be our biggest blowout today. I'm not surprised about Shovel Knight -- almost took that upset, but Shenmue being competitive in any sense is a real shocker. GTA's still GTA I guess.
