redrocket_pub posted... My point is not that you should be close-minded about a work of art, but rather if a significant number of people react negatively to a work and they all need someone else to 'correct' them about how good that work supposedly is, it's a safe bet that there is an intrinsic flaw in that art. I guess The Shining, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Psycho, etc etc are all "intrinsically flawed" then. --- http://www.last.fm/user/VinnyMendoza "This is all we have... when we die.." |
Yeah
I definitely had instant regret looking at my bracket and seeing I took
Mario Maker over SotN...that was a bit much, but momentum is a crazy
thing...maybe...sort of...? God dammit... --- Viviff on the go! (or from the toilet) http://i.minus.com/iUSn0BlyRplGN.gif |
To
be fair, SotN could have really fallen or Mario Maker may be stronger
than anyone could've imagined. Or maybe Banjo-Kazooie will be announced
for Smash and will dominate the eight-pack. --- Current Let's Play: Final Fantasy IX - http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3729662 Previous: http://lparchive.org/author/mega64 |
Not so bold predix: Mario Maker is going to be the weakest game in that eightpack by a significant margin. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |
I
struggle to see Mario Maker even being in the bottom half of that eight
pack, though that's mostly because everything else besides SotN and
maybe FE:A is so weak. e: Though Xenoblade could be like SotC where all the praise for it will boost the game itself despite most people having never played it. e2: Really though just f*** that eightpack. --- Current Let's Play: Final Fantasy IX - http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3729662 Previous: http://lparchive.org/author/mega64 (edited 11/13/2015 1:51:16 PM)report |
Oh, I forgot Phoenix Wright 3 was in there. It probably beats that. That's about it. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |
No
SOTC is really that highly-regarded. At the very least, during my time
at unikgamer the game was ALWAYS in the top 20, and it was briefly even
in the top 15. It has always been ranked ahead of the likes of Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy X, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Metroid, and Majora's Mask there. It's for real. --- "Nothing I could do!" -Darksydephil |
I
thought BG2 was weak but when I actually checked the matches of it and
Banjo, BG2 seemed more impressive on 2010 SoA than anything Banjo's been
involved in. I kinda wish I went with BG2 there now. --- Current Let's Play: Final Fantasy IX - http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3729662 Previous: http://lparchive.org/author/mega64 (edited 11/13/2015 1:59:45 PM)report |
90.89% for OoT May possibly hit 91% by the end. |
Baldur's Gate II would probably get 35% on Super Mario Galaxy 2. At least based on extrapolation from Skies/BG2, Mass Effect/Skies, and Mass Effect/SMG2. --- "Nothing I could do!" -Darksydephil |

SOTC is a unique masterpiece. I love Xenoblade but lol not even comparable. It's at best one of the best JRPG's last gen but thats as much praise as you can give it. |
I see Ocarina got a 126-3 update. That's heartwarming. |
If
you believe Majora's Mask > Perfect Dark > Banjo-Kazooie still
holds up from 2009 (minus the SFF) then you'd have to give Baldur's Gate
II a half chance. --- BGE3: Today's Matches LoZ:OoT>Hearthstone, Suikoden II>MH4U, Okami>Warcraft III, FFIX>KH Points 27/32 |

Let it be known that, at 5 PM, OoT had exactly ten times as many votes as Hearthstone. --- "Those who cast the vote decide nothing. Those who count the vote decide everything." |

Has ever been a match where the loser ended winning in USA? --- Why do we exist? What happens when we stop existing? |
I would imagine there probably has been. KH has at least got the lead below 900. --- sig pssssssssssst - http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/568795-soccer-challenge |
Lead under 900, first time in 2 hours And now I go to sleep, FFIX you better f***ing win this one thank you --- 3DS FC : 3411-1762-0066 |
Surprised no one has mentioned KH is finally making a sustained move. Down to 894 votes. --- http://www.last.fm/user/VinnyMendoza "This is all we have... when we die.." |
Am
I the only one who took Xenoblade to the division finals? I am banking
on a boost from the new Xenoblade, which should come out right before
the winner of that four pack faces off against Castlevania. --- Yay - Raytan is the guru champion of awesomeness. |
Safer_777 posted... Has ever been a match where the loser ended winning in USA? Alucard VS Captain Falcon VS Rydia. I think Cap Falcon even won in UK, Canada and Australia, but Alucard's domination in the rest of the world was so big that he still could win that match. --- Ngamer64: Zylo, you're making less sense every day. Crono/Vincent
2007, Crono/Sonic, Crono/Mario 2002 and 2003 (don't have data, but its
almost certain), Link/Cloud 2003 (almost certainly), probably other
matches involving CT. --- September 1, 2003; November 4, 2007; September 2, 2013 NEVER FORGET. |

B-K getting to R3 might even be better than Chrono Cross to R3 just because no one gives it a chance. --- http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr345/Rakaputra/B8%20Girls%202012/pjbas.png LongLiveraytan |

SotN
is a game with actual strength here (yeah, it's definitely losing
ground, but still). If freaking Suikoden is winning today I can't see
Xenoblade pulling off the upset. Old > new is too strong here. --- I don't know how much you know about women, but Dr. Pizza is an expert. - The Mana Sword |

Also Monster Hunter is like, not good. They're like Musou games. Mindless fun but nobody loves them except crazies --- http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr345/Rakaputra/B8%20Girls%202012/pjbas.png LongLiveraytan |

to be fair, even if you miss literally every single match on that half of the division, it's only -12 points |

can see a bracket with MH4U winning, KH winning two rounds, getting the
