Almost even hour from 2-3. Now, FFIX appears to be moving in the 4th hour. Night vote has arrived?

After looking at statistics, I still believe these contests would be waaaaaaaaay better if European voters were more prominent. Square games still do very well there, and it's really on in the US thatt Nintendo dominates.

FFIX's percentage by country:

United Kingdom - 65%
France - 71%
Germany - 72%
Spain - 73%
Italy - 59%

Canada - 56%
USA - 46%

Still holding pretty strong in Europe. I'm thinking we may be able to get some 57%+ hours tonight for FFIX.

I wouldn't take any chances on FFIX being able to hold a narrow lead for 24 hours.

FFIX might be able to pull too far ahead for KH1 to catch up with the day vote, but it's almost certain KH1 will do better than it's doing now. The disparity between the U.S. and Europe is too big for it not to at this point.

I really doubt FFIX is going to win this though.

Vivi had a rally behind him, so of course he wasn't going to lose. That's not really a fair comparison.

That being said, if it DOES come down to the wire, I'd trust FFIX over KH1 anyway. This board favors FFIX, so it'll make sure it wins.

And KH doesn't really have much of a clutch anyway. Axel rolled over to Frog, as you said, and Sora couldn't pull out a win over Pikachu even with friggin' Blue taking up the other spot in the poll.

Based on Luster's continent poll data, Europe only got 13.21% of the votes during the 2-3 AM hour, which was still well below it's overall percentage for the day. In fact, Europe did not have another hour below the 2-3 AM hour mark until 7-8 PM. Europe did not record another hour below 20% until 10-11 AM.

Man Crono/Vincent really traumatized you didn't it red?

Speaking of Crono/Vincent, what was the first time the Noble Nine was broken? Was it L-Block?

And what was the first time 1v1?

Also I think Sephiroth and Crono are the only NNers not to ever appear in Smash. Poor them. At least Seph will have the Remake though, Crono gets zilch.

In other words, based solely on geolocation trends, Kingdom Hearts cannot expect to do better during the daytime than it did during the 2-3 AM hour, which was to tread water. To achieve its comeback, KH will need to rely on time-based trends within North America. To the extent that we have seen trends this year, it's been mostly geolocation trends, so I still think this is an uphill climb for KH.

The thing about games with strong Euro votes like the Playstation Final Fantasies is that they continue in strength right through the morning, so it's not like they only have the dead zone to build a lead. Back when the ASV still existed in force, we wouldn't expect KH to start cutting the lead until the ASV started around 2-3 PM.

My guess is FFIX will have a lead of around 1000 around 10 AM.......It does feel very weird saying that KH can't make that up against a game with an awful day vote like FFIX, but that's been what this contest has suggested so far!

Hmmm I didn't realize the NN stood for so long!

I remember back when everyone thought it would be Sonic or maybe Mega Man to break the NN.

Sure it can. The Geolocation trends aren't so absolute as that.

also FFIX should probably stop letting KH1 cut it during its good hours if it wants that 1000 vote lead you proclaim it should get

He got Bowser when Bowser was at his peak in 2005, and during the sprite round, to boot. It wasn't all luck. Snake could've won those matches, too. Sonic beat Vincent (who beat Ganondorf) in 2006, and he was thought of as being right down there with Snake, too.

I still say the Naked Snake pics in 2004 negatively affected him because MGS fans knew it wasn't Solid Snake in those pics. 2004 was a bit of an aberration, I think. Not that he would've done a lot better, but I think it did hurt him somewhat.
---
http://i.imgur.com/3DwCNLJ.gif
Well, 2004 was definitely the riskiest year by far. I think 2004 Snake was the only Noble Niner to finish behind non-NNers in the x-stats until the shift to 4-way contests began, excepting 2003 Sonic and his placement 0.01% behind Magus. But 2004 Snake was behind multiple non-NNers, and did worse against Megaman than Zero did.

KH doesn't need drastic improvement during the day to win this.

If KH can hold FFIX to around the 53% it got last hour over the rest of the night, that's one thing. But 3-4 AM is still more controlled by the North America than the Europe vote, note that Crono still beat Vincent in that hour even in the year he went on to lose 51.5-48.5. I think it's more likely FFIX will be averaging in the 57%+ area during the dead zone, and even in the morning vote, it may still chug along at the 53% it got last hour or higher.

I woke up and I checked the results. This is what I have to say.
1st match=OOT over 90%? I know it is the strongest game here but I thought it could have lost some power over time. Damn!
2nd match=Well Suikoden 2 is winning because it is a JRPG I guess?
3rd match=Okami is really loved on the site so this shouldn't suprise anyone.
4th match=Both of these games have the same chance to win, so makes sense to be that close. Still KH will win because it has the most votes in USA.

Also Cloud is Smash Brothers? I wish we had a Character Contest now! Imagine when FF 7 remake comes out! Cloud might beat Link or something!
