But Mario 3 has shorter, tougher levels and goes a bit wild with creativity. They're two of the top 3 best 2D platformers, so I'm not gonna disparage one over the other! Or some such mark that shows how big a turnaround we had in matches. Yeah that's what I'm looking for basically. Successful comebacks in terms of "deficit erased" and "overall swing". Although I guess if a game came back from a huge deficit and then fell a few votes short I'd also like to see that somewhere. Sorry, I just find those are some of the most fun parts of the contest. |

discussed even before this contest began. I don't think GTA has any

GTAV/SMRPG situation is a fascinating one. Retro games are looking
stellar across the board... but GTA is looking more potent too. Now watch both lose to Oblivion. >_> --- JAK The Character Battle IX people's champ. |

really didn't understand the people who were predicting FFVIII to get
high 60s and low 70s against Vice City. I wouldn't even pick FFX to
break 70% on Vice City and FFVIII is weaker than FFX. I'm still
overshooting FFVIII by about 5%, though the night vote should make

Yeah.
In recent years particularly I think the fanbase as become a lot more
critical of Final Fantasy VIII. (similar to MGS4 for example which
we've also seen has dropped significantly) I wouldn't take FFVIII doing
poorly here to mean anything for FFIX (or any other FF game) which has
probably only gotten more well-respected in the eyes of the fans. --- This was my signature, but Raytan, 2013 Guru champion, took it away. |

think it's isolated to FF8 because this is what the trends were
pointing towards. FF8 has been looking a little worse and FF9 has been
looking a little better as of late. I suggested FF9>FF8 pre-contest! Xenogears almost just beat KOTOR, I don't think this is some big PS1 JRPG loss. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |
