Maybe it's nostalgia but TTYD just didn't have as much of an impact on me as Paper Mario did.

Hah, sorry that flew over my head Ulti. Also, the Jak sig goes back to how he almost prevented the Draven rallies - he was in the lead against him R1 prior to the first rally taking off. I just haven't changed it since... but in my defense, I was gone for months. >_>

I don't actually hate SMW, but the idea of people considering it better than SMB3 is mind-boggling to me. The level designs in the latter feel so much more exciting and fully-realized. It was more innovative, more challenging, more varied... and just much, much more fun.

SMW > SMB3 has the distinction of being the only match result that's actively irritated me.

Correct top 4 at least, and while I disagree with BiS at one, I'm thrilled that you have it above TYD. BiS is just so f***ing amazing. Amazing gameplay (both sides of that coin) great great humor, and such a unique twist on Mario.

Repeating from last page, can we get a "largest deficit erased/overcome" and/or a "largest vote swing" category too? Or some such mark that shows how big a turnaround we had in matches.

SMW is more cohesive, feels like an adventure across a connected world. There's more secrets and exploring to do than in Mario 3, too! But Mario 3 has shorter, tougher levels and goes a bit wild with creativity. They're two of the top 3 best 2D platformers, so I'm not gonna disparage one over the other!

(For the curious, the other platformer is Mega Man 2)

Mario 1 is a great time. But then you'll hit like world 5 and suddenly it's not quite as great anymore. But it is the best Mario game to speed run.

I still don't get why GTA just collapsed here on this site. Vice City looked great in 2004, and Vercetti and even CJ (maybe, we still have no clue how strong Ness was) were OK looking in contests. Vercetti was leagues above where he is now. What happened? The series wasn't burned out with yearly releases, and the games have all gotten great receptions in the rest of the gaming community. Did GameFAQS just decide in 2006 that they were too cool for school?

I do appreciate the nonlinear approach of SMW. This is something that I think it and SM64 did really well, and is sorely lacking in many later Mario titles.

My top three would be DKC2, SMB1 and Yoshi's Island. SMB3 is up there, though.
