Sonic has less than 53% on Portal 2 currently. It could have very easily won had Sonic 2 been slightly weaker or it was slightly stronger. --- Welcome to the League of Stickies. |
Portal
used to look a lot better but didn't do that well against SSBM.
Assuming Portal 2 has had a similar decline, it probably was stronger

and while it was the favourite Sonic 2 was a popular upset. As for the
original it did about 5% worse than expected though honestly it was

don't think TWD is worth all that much. I think creativename mentioned
it, and it's not to take away from it, but that's basically a non-game.
Not sure how popular that would ever be. Sonic beating Portal 2 is

Boy I want Undertale to win this so much. And I didn't even play ME3. Flowey in the "cover" is so ironic. I wonder if we'll ever see him or another undertale character in a character battle. |

games are less laugh out loud funny like some fans want to suggest, and
more like charming and witty, real self-aware. And then underneath that

ROUND 1 – DAY 6 – BOTTOM OF DIVISION 3 Match XXI: (3) Fallout 3 vs. (14) Life is Strange Previous Performance Fallout 3 – 2010 81.00% against inFamous 74.27% against Deus Ex 58.80% against Batman: Arkham Asylum 60.60% against Halo: Combat Evolved 51.94% against Metroid Prime 45.57% against Super Smash Bros. Brawl Life is Strange – N/A N/A Analysis Fallout 3 gets the rare opportunity to have a game in its series released on the day of the match. Historically that usually gives them a bit of a boost, not that the game needs it to win this match. Had Fallout 4 been released during its round 3 match we could have seen some weird results. While I believe Fallout 3 overperformed against SSBB in 2010, many of my calculations have it breaking 40% so the game still has strength. I’m not sure what to expect out of Life is Strange. The game was released in 2015 and received its fifth episode just three weeks ago so it is still fresh on people’s mind. Of course, how many people is questionable. With the release of Fallout 4 I can see 3 pushing for a tripling. charmander6000’s Bracket: Fallout 3 > Life is Strange charmander6000’s Prediction: Fallout 3 wins, 74.21% - 25.79% Match XXII: (6) Undertale vs. (11) Mass Effect 3 Previous Performance Undertale – N/A N/A Mass Effect 3 – N/A N/A Analysis Undertale gets the award of being the youngest game in the contest, being just a couple of weeks old when nominations came out and being less than two months old for this match. While the fanbase has been very vocal and has a few big YouTube players playing I feel the fanbase for this game is quite small. There was a lot of hate for the ending of Mass Effect 3 and while BioWare tried to fix it some fans have been unforgiving. While a lot of that vocal hate has disappeared that doesn’t mean Mass Effect fans love the game now. Match XXIII: (7) Grand Theft Auto: Vice City vs. (10) Final Fantasy VIII Previous Performance Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – 2010 63.57% against Silent Hill 2 34.31% against Resident Evil 4 Final Fantasy VIII – 2009 43.91% against Starcraft, Soul Calibur, Xenogears 21.10% against LoZ: Ocarina of Time, Starcraft, Final Fantasy IX 17.72% against LoZ: Ocarina of Time, Pokemon RBY, Metal Gear Solid Analysis It’s quite sad to watch the Grand Theft Auto series go from legit powerhouse to flops. Vice City was thoroughly crushed by Resident Evil 4 and I would like to think the game has not aged very well since that time. Sure Grand Theft Auto V was released to high praise, but GTA is just not GameFAQs’ type of game anymore. Final Fantasy VIII has never truly given us a clear idea as to how strong it is. We know it’s a strong game, but is it a game that can hang with VI and X or is it a clear step below. Its target for this match is what Resident Evil 4 got in 2010, especially if Vice City is weaker for this contest. charmander6000’s Bracket: Final Fantasy VIII > GTA: Vice City charmander6000’s Prediction: Final Fantasy VIII wins, 68.82% - 31.18% Match XXIV: (2) Super Mario World vs. (15) Animal Crossing: New Leaf Previous Performance Super Mario World – 2009 45.78% against Final Fantasy, Battletoads, Prince of Persia 54.13% against Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy, Mega Man 3 32.14% against Super Mario Bros. 3, Final Fantasy IV, Sonic 1 30.96% against Super Mario Bros. 3, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 16.17% against Final Fantasy VII, LoZ: A Link to the Past, Super Mario Bros. 3 Animal Crossing: New Leaf – N/A N/A Analysis Well this was a needless SFF match and it could have been easily avoided, just switch 15 seeds with another non-Nintendo game, it’s not like any of them have a chance at winning. Even if there was no SFF I expect this match to be a bit of a blowout. From the 2010 contest the original Animal Crossing was expected to get 24.36% against Majora’s Mask. I assume the original would be the strongest of the series, though that it more of how I see the series. Super Mario World could go for blowout of the round. The record is still held by Chrono Trigger and there are only a couple more matches that I can see challenge the record. Undertale, though, is probably one of my favorite games. Who knows, though. I had Portal 2 winning its four-pack so I'm inclined to think Sonic 2 will win now too. Uncharted 2 has a big win here, but The Walking Dead wasn't looking up to par with its 2012-competition...and 2012 is possibly the weakest year we've seen represented in a Game Of The Year-series here (it or 2009).
