I just checked the results for the first time. 1st match=Duh of course Mario with a high score. Everyone knew it. 2nd match=Pokemon is doing nice. It is against Tetris which EVERYONE knows. So people would vote for it. It doesn't tell anything about R/B/Y power. 3rd match=I thought Portal 2 would win even though I picked Sonic 2 because it is the only Sonic game in the contest. Guess PC games suck here. 4th match=A doubling as was expected. Also nice to see ME won even though I had Mario. --- Why do we exist?What happens when we stop existing? |

Skyrim
is easily the game of the generation. Comparing other games like portal
or assassins creed to it is like comparing wave race 64 to OoT. It could lose to Goldeneye, but that would just prove that no one on gamefaqs cares about last gen. Concerning
the upcoming Mario 3 - RBY match, if you peg both games at the same
strength and compare AoE and Tetris, Tetris wins with 65.86% of the
vote. Right now I think that gives Mario 3 the edge but you never know

Portal
2 could be getting votes from people who played the first game, while
wheatley is only known if you played the secong game. Or maybe Wheatley is just that unpopular compared to say, Glados. |

It got 34% against a FFVI that only got around 45% against LttP with Super Metroid and Link's Awakening in the same poll. 32% against 2015 Melee vs. 32% against 2009 Final Fantasy VI? Sonic did a lot worse in 4-ways for some reason. In general I honestly think Sega isn't that popular on GameFAQs. exclusive non-Sonic game on a Sega console would do well? Even the
ported Dreamcast games are fairly weak (I think Skies of Arcadia is the

I'm actually surprised SC didn't make the bracket given how high its Metacritic score is but I'm guessing nobody nominated it. It would've been interesting to see how it would do, given how it almost beat Kingdom Hearts in 2004 (not saying it would do that again but it'd be great to see where its strength would be today) Shenmue has major rallying potential (on the kickstarter for Shenmue III the average donation was $90!). Cave Johnson, Wheatley, GLaDOS were all freakin' interesting characters in Portal 2. |

Pokemon's
performance makes me wonder if people are taking into account actual
"best game ever" status when it comes to voting between it or Tetris.
Both games are highly influential but in terms of game design Tetris is
not only better (Pokemon is glitch city, pun intended) but it got it
right the first time. Pokemon meanwhile had broken gameplay mechanics

biggest thing I think RBY has going against it is exactly that, who is
going to actually feel RBY is the Best Game Ever when it is broken as
f*** and super outdated. In my opinion few games in the bracket are less
deserving of the title than RBY is. The
contest is really more like 'The game I had the most fun playing'.
That's the only reason why RBY is even decently strong. That's the only
reason why I'd vote for RBY over every game because its my favorite game
of all time~most fun playing. Otherwise its no where near deserving the
title. |
So
Sonic will break the 1000 vote barrier soon, I think this is over. The
first two guru upsets are my two losses, but this one I went with.
Feeling very good about taking it to Round 3 too. I don't think UC2 is
doing that great really, although it's been gaining percentage for a
little while now to keep doubling TWD. But I think TWD is really weak,

Having
some vague degree of familiarity doesn't mean people are going to care
about you at all. Even if Daytona might have a vaguely respectable
playrate (and I'm not even sure of that), I'd guess over half of those
who have played it haven't touched it in over 15 years. I'd take Pac-Man
to utterly destroy Daytona and I doubt the former is above the
fodder-line. Other than the occasional Nintendo game, racing games

I don't think people expected Pokemon to get to the #2 spot on this site without rallying. Mario can definitely beat it on pure strength alone. The only thing in question here was if Mario 3 was strong enough to pull it off since the people who played the game 25 years probably have kids now (in other words it's old). And it clearly is based on it's performance today. Using
MM2/MM3 Tetris is probably just below FFIV. If there's no SFF then this
is a good performance to defeat SMB3, if not then Pokemon is in

I think Tetris is just hard to crush. It's probably not that strong but it will always have a certain % of the votes. |

I picked RBY to get beat by Mario 64. It's certainly never been on my radar as the second strongest game. I went FF7 > Mario 64 > Pokemon RBY > SMW > SM3.
