Some thoughts 1. I expected Pokemon to get around 70% on Tetris. Tetris is a classic that has stood the test of time and Pokemon is not good at SFFing. We haven't really seen it in a real 1v1 setting since 11 years ago when Zelda clearly SFFed it. Tetris is going to get votes. 2. I thought some people were calling for Mario to win with close to 90%? I mean Tetris has way more strength than AoE, we'd all agree on that. 3. I don't think this Portal match is over. We're well past the bracket vote stage and it's still close and I think it'll have a better night vote to keep it in the match. And maybe Sonic has that casual bracket vote from people who don't log on right at 12 to vote. Sonic 2 is a pretty good Sonic game. There are probably 10+ SNES games better than it though. Sonic 3 & Knuckles, on the other hand, can go toe to toe with any SNES game. --- http://i.imgur.com/3DwCNLJ.gif |

know, at first I didn't think one should try and get too much out of a
match with Tetris, since the LoZ vs. Tetris match was literally over a

The SNES library in definitely better than the Genesis library. Like if we did a top 25 games of the 4th generation (and we didn't count PC) we'd probably have like 7 Genesis games but like 18 SNES games. Maybe I'm being a little overboard with that number but still the SNES is king. PS1/N64 era would probably be more even then that. --- Video Games are pretty cool. The only bonus I can think Tetris may get is that you can get it on your phone now. Some even come with it pre-installed. That wasn't the case a decade ago. I wonder if lower votals would also cater to Tetris. Either way, it's still looking pretty awful for Pokemon right now. |

SMB/LoZ clearly overlap more with each other than they do with Tetris.
But, being the 3rd place in 4-ways can be really damaging. So as usual

If you just assume that every match Tetris had with LoZ 1 involved SFF and throw them out, then things look a bit better. Puts RBY at around 73% on Mega Man 2. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

Looking
at Galaxy 2/ME from yesterday, I see that match stayed consistently
less than 30 votes apart from the FFVII/Journey match for the first 11
hours of the day, then Galaxy 2/ME started to pull away from
FFVII/Journey slightly. Ultimately, the Galaxy 2/ME match finished only
160 votes ahead of FFVII/Journey, so that suggests there were very

Honestly
Pokemon doesn't look bad here. I was thinking mid to high 60s
pre-contest and only picked 72% in the oracle due to not wanting to go too low. I have Mario 3 beating it in my bracket and still like the pick, but it has nothing to do with the current match. |

Wow, this is crushing for my bracket. Portal 2, not meeting expectations. I thought this might happen, just wanted to go with portal because I like it better. But, much, much worse. Pokemon, not even over 70% against Tetris. I have a terrible feeling about this. (I have pokemon R/B losing the finals). |
Also, there are so few perfect brackets left. I feel like it normally takes way longer for this to happen? |
