Please tell me how everyone claiming GSC was the favorite over Majora's Mask before it got godsmacked in round 3 isn't the exact same thing.

The GSC > Majora pick had 0 logic behind it, and to this day I'm surprised it was such a heavy board favourite. Everyone was using a wonky 4-way match, and was jumping down my throat every time I mentioned that Majora would win there. Pretty much everyone on here admits that RBY/SMB3 is a tossup and arguments could be made either way.

When I made my bracket, I took RBY to the semifinals and figured it would be a dark horse pick. I was actually surprised to see it was the Board favourite.

Considering we had absolutely no relevant evidence outside of said 4 way match, I'm not sure what exactly we were supposed to do.

Well, that's really the point of these things, isn't it? When we only have 1 blatantly unrealiable match, you need to put your thinking cap on and say "Hmmm, do I really think anything Pokemon related that isn't from the first generation will be worth a damn?"

Round 2: 80% against Dragon Quest VIII

CT follows up its round 1 blowout of the round victory by getting blowout of the round for round 2 as well, with an SFF drubbing of DQVIII.

Round 3: 63% against Final Fantasy X

Is this real? Is this SFF? Should FFVII be scared? Find out next round, when CT faces a strong Nintendo game!

Round 4: 62% against Super Smash Bros. Melee

Much ado will be made about how this is about the same percentage FFVII got on Melee back in 2004.

Round 5: 52% against Final Fantasy VII

CT opens above 60% at the freeze, and holds on to win with 52%. Ocarina of Time is put on notice.

Isn't this about what we expected for SMB3 and RBY pre contest? SMB3 was expected to have the biggest blowout of all Round 1 matches, and 65-70% was about right for RBY because Tetris is actually legit and Pokemon doesn't SFF it much.
