think Mario is one of the Nintendo series on GameFAQS that's not
actually disproportionately popular. Mass Effect is just much weaker
here. SMG2 is probably a mid to low midcarder, which sounds about right

SMG2 is probably a mid to low midcarder, which sounds about right anywhere else. Mario the CHARACTER is less popular on GF compared to most sites. If you're not one of THE elite Nintendo games (In Mario's case, that would be 3, World, and 64), you can be beaten by anything. They're not invincible. I think it would be close. Also when you say "elite" Nintendo games...you have to factor in that those games have fans outside of the Nintendo fanbase. A ton of people who game on Xbox and PS4 these days grew up with games like SMW, OoT and Mario 64. Galaxy is probably a game they liked when they went to their grandmas to play the wii or something. nobody actually bought or cared about SMG2. Sure, critics loved it, but I

Galaxy is way more popular in general than it is on GameFAQs. I think
people have the wrong idea if they think people don't actively like the
Galaxy games. Galaxy vs. ME2 would be interesting elsewhere, but not
