I also noticed that B8 is a lot more pro Galaxy than other places. In fact, in most places I go to most newer Mario Games don't get much enthusiam at all.. Galaxy
used to be ranked very highly on unikgamer (and still is), and always
had a user score of 9/10, which was always fairly high. When I went it
was in the top 55 and eventually entered the top 50 a year after. I guess because of that and it being so loved on this board I assumed it was really just that highly-regarded (although it feels more like it's that those who've played it generally love it but it isn't that many compared to some of the more hyped games of the time). So this is a 50-50 match in true sense, it was just the bracket votes which resulted Galaxy 2 lead first half of the match. But then you also have ME rallies to account for, don't know if Galaxy was rallied as well, was it? |

Galaxy
is a well respected game. You don't see people outside of the very
vocal minority say bad things about it. However it just doesn't have the
affinity of games like a mario 64 to be abel to do anything in a
tournament like this. Respect doesn't win you popularity polls,

I don't think I've bothered to check THE LIST in full at all, I didn't take it into account one bit when bracket making so uh what's the consensus on Portal 2/Sonic 2 as of right now, that's the match to keep an eye on tomorrow I'd imagine. Galaxy 1 would not be losing here. And Galaxy 2 still has no excuses for losing here. It was a heavily favored pick and that clearly translated to huge early support. You can't blame rallying on this result. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. (edited 11/8/2015 12:32:50 PM)report |

ME2
got 58% on SMG2 in the GotY poll, so really there's plenty of room for
SMG2 to lose here and ME2 to still be a much stronger game than ME1. --- Black Turtle did a pretty good job. |

I would vote for Me2 over SMG any day but there isn't much between the two games in terms of the series they are from. It's not like SMG2 is losing to like Halo 3 or something. |

Galaxy more than SMG2. They don't rank too closely for me, but then, I
don't think Mass Effect was as big a deal as other people do. I liked

In terms of the types of games this site votes for it's an achievement that ME1 is even beating a game like Galaxy 2. ME1 wouldn't come close to beating Galaxy 2 if they faced 4 years ago. |

He basically posted on various popular Social/Console boards asking users their top 5 games of all time. #1 was CT #2 was OoT #3 was FF7 Other top 10s were MGS3, FFX, Melee, LttP, SMB3, FF6. Other sites lean more heavily to western games. Apart from OoT(which would win or be top tier on most sites tbh) a lot of the really popular games on here just aren't very popular on other sites like FFVI or CT.
