Yeah X/Y definitely isn't as strong as R/B/Y and G/S/C. But it is the one that got me back into the series after Emerald so I can't complain about it. It's still one of the best Pokemon games out there I'd say. Not number 1 but up there. --- Video Games are pretty cool. |

Last of Us isn't too surprising. It was one of the most critically
acclaimed game of last generation, probably only behind Skyrim in terms

Not
seeing room for a TOS comeback. I don't see how something Tales of
Symphonia related can potentially LOSE the board vote by this much. I
know PM's the bracket favorite, but super board favorites like TOS that
have a decent amount of bracket support usually hold up pretty well even

And there is certainly SFF. But people need to ditch the "ugh, RBY had such an unbalanced metagame, the new generation is such a great game" explanations that keep coming up to support new pokemon games having meaningful strength. |

As someone who really wants to see Pokemon lose in this contest, I feel really bad for X/Y. At least during Pikachu's match with Cloud was a time when Pokemon was absolutely hated in GameFAQs. But this is beyond anything people's imagined. I'm tempted to go ask the X/Y and OR/AS boards why they think the game is getting crushed and what it means for R/B/Y and G/S/C. --- Ole, ole, ole, ole. Old Square boost? I don't think so. If anything it's Old Square staticness. Really I think it's more that older games that aren't one of the big franchises here - Zelda, Final Fantasy, Mario, Pokemon - age faster. They don't maintain relevance for as long. Yeah xenogears is out of this now I would say. Hopefully Paper Mario holds up. Love that game. |

manually trigger an update for the first 3 matches from yesterday, as

Series hold up better (especially if recent games are well received) because it keeps it in the consciousness and probably even triggers replays for old fans and checking out old games for new fans. A bit of revitalization. Of course, I think that effect gets weakened when recent games are not as well received. Like Halo. |
