Smash Bros. 64 being in the top 10 for one thing. Sure we don't know

Starcraft and XY seem quite off. WW seems quite high too. For all we know RBY could be the game which gets bandwagoned! |
Oh and Smash 64 too. |
most obviously wrong things: 1. 64 as the strongest Smash game 2. League of Legends is either #1 (with rallies) or fodder (without) |
It's
hard to make a top 10 when the last bge contest was over 5 years ago in
a 4-way format. For example, Mario 64 is probably strong but until we
see it in some serious matches we have no idea how strong it is compared
to the other big games on the site. We also don't know how strong FF6 actually is, whether MGS or MGS3 is stronger, the second strongest Zelda game (although the safe bet is probably LttP for now), where any of the new games fit in (Fallout, Mass Effect, Skyrim), etc. --- http://img.imgcake.com/whatisurnameplz/kermitgifre.gif Oh yea, I guess raytan won. Here's my tier list. I have not ranked the games within each tier. Tier 1 LoZ: Ocarina of Time Tier 2 Final Fantasy VII LoZ: Link to the Past Pokemon RBY Super Mario 64 Tier 3 Chrono Trigger Final Fantasy VI Final Fantasy X LoZ: Majora's Mask LoZ: Twilight Princess Metal Gear Solid Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario World Super Smash Bros. Melee Tier 4 Fallout 3 Final Fantasy IX Final Fantasy VIII Kingdom Hearts Kingdom Hearts II LoZ: Wind Waker Metal Gear Solid 3 Pokemon GSC Resident Evil 4 I'm probably forgetting something. is a fine performance from Melee. I was a bit down on it at first, but
that's when I thought that FFX crushed RE4 (and, by X-Stats extension,
Portal) in GotD. I just looked up that poll and FFX only won with 57%. I
originally thought it was 63% or something. While 67% on Portal may not show the muscle needed to oust Chrono Trigger, that match was always going to be a tough one. Melee isn't the juggernaut that it was some years ago, sad as that is. --- http://i.imgur.com/gByqgPg.gif |

From the GotY polls we can expect XY to be slightly weaker than TloU. Should be enough to put a respectable score against WW. |
VI is definitely stronger than X. --- Video Games are pretty cool. |

I think you're overly relying on LTTP's power in the 2004 games contest where it went even with CT in that great match. It's not 2004 though anymore... I really feel RBY has overtaken Ocarina for this contest. But Ocarina is what most people believe is the strongest. 5) Super Mario 64? I think that's too low, this game is going to be a beast. 6) Melee? Way too high, Melee is not special anymore, too many Smash games have come out, reducing Melee's "exclusive" quality as THE game on it's system, the GameCube. 9) Final Fantasy X also seems a bit high. Not a bad list though. My questions would be: -Where is Zelda: TP and Zelda: Wind Waker? -Pokemon G/S/C should be in the top 10 -Original Smash, Super Smash Bros.(N64)? - How about MGS3? Yeah I can be wrong about LttP, who knows how well it has held up. I've made 'tiers', so SM64 is up there with FF7, RBY and LttP. Kinda hoping Melee nostalgia to take over. As of FFX, once again, tiers. All the games which are grouped together, they can go either way. TP would be around Skyrim's strength, with WW being slightly-fairly weaker than TP. GSC's performance today seems neither too impressive nor too shabby, just about what I expected, which would be a tier below MM. Though I feel GSC can give the stronger Square games a run for its money (such as FFX, CT and FF VI). Don't have any idea about Smash 64. MGS3 would fall around Skyrim, RE4, TP, FO3 tier. Though I expect Skyrim to be the strongest in its tier. Idk, I don't think Super Metroid is top 20 material. Not sure how much FO4 hype will help but FO3 would probably lose to SMW. I previously reported in the last topic that today's matches were very frontloaded and had managed to build up a maximum lead of 2858 votes over yesterday's matches at 9:12 AM. Today's
matches should finish around 36000 votes a piece, which isn't too bad
even considering that today's matches have rapidly fallen off the pace

Getting
a zero bracket is as difficult as getting round one perfect. A perfect
bracket in its entirety is much harder. Maybe Chrono Trigger is just

Based
on past contests, TP and WW are about equal, with TP being very
slightly stronger. That may have changed since 2010 though. --- Dragon Ball Super. Star Wars Episode VII. Final Fantasy VII remake. Nostalgia is a powerful drug and I'm going to need rehab. |

I'm hoping Mass Effect 2 can get in there as well. Smash I'm not sure about. Only thing I'm concerned about is MGS's placement. I might just be biased against it but I think that it's pretty close to MGS3 in strength.
