-LusterSoldier- posted... The extremely low vote totals from yesterday's poll has just carried over to today's poll. Actually, today's poll is starting out with even worse vote totals than yesterday's poll. At least today's poll is a re-run of a past poll and when we had this poll back in 2013, the vote totals were only slightly worse than average. Based on the same poll from 2013, today's poll should be projected to get 18931 votes, but the actual vote totals we're seeing right now would put this poll on track to finish with far less votes instead. And the poll from yesterday ends up finishing with better vote totals than what was originally expected based on the terrible early vote totals. I guess yesterday's poll got off to a slow start in vote totals and ultimately finished just slightly above 17000 votes. It still finished about 1900 votes below the projected vote totals I had posted in my earlier post. The
Wii U is doing just slightly better in this year's poll compared to the
same poll last year, but I would blame that on the Wii U having a
higher ownership compared to a year ago. PS4 got the biggest jump by
far, while PS3 took a large drop at the same time. Xbox One also does
better this year, coming at a loss to the Xbox 360. PC is pretty much

Nope, the bracket is not up yet. already posted this in another topic, but tomorrow's poll will not be a
Vote-In poll. I think I've given up all hope for Vote-In polls for
this contest. Besides, tomorrow would be a good day for a bracket
because that would give us exactly 3 weeks to fill out a bracket before

The poll for tomorrow got extremely bad vote totals when we had that poll back in 2013. The 2013 version of tomorrow's poll would have been projected to get 12201 votes based on our average vote totals over the past 30 days, which gives you an idea of how bad the vote totals were in the 2013 poll. The 2013 version of tomorrow's poll got extremely bad vote totals because most people probably haven't seen any pictures of the Steam Controller and had no way to really answer the poll without an option for "I haven't seen what the controller looks like". I wouldn't expect the vote totals for tomorrow's poll to be nearly as bad as my projection would suggest, since people are going to be more familiar with the Steam Controller and what it looks like. But with today's poll, not knowing what the Steam Controller looks like would be a non-issue with this poll since you aren't being asked to answer the poll based on what it looks like. SSB64
has a Metascore of 79 which means it wasn't in the top 100 for
nominations and also had a lower Metascore than all the game in the top
100. It has a GameFAQs User rating of 4.27 (SMB has 4.22). I wonder if
it's even in the bracket. It seems like it will come down to the

doubt SSB1 made it. I know the original still has its supporters, but
it's pretty much an outdated game at this point in a lot of people's

Thought this re-run would have done better than this as far more people (compared to the 2013 poll) would be familiar with the Steam Controller design to vote in this one. The playrate for Mario 1 is currently better in today's poll compared to the same poll from last year. At the one hour mark in last year's poll, the playrate for Mario 1 was 92.95%. Bioshock
Infinite was HUGE when it came out, while New Vegas was a
glitch-riddled mess when it first launched. People love both games, but

am fairly confident in New Vegas over Bioshock Infinite. New Vegas has
managed stay on the GameFAQs Top 100 list for a very extended period of
time (over 1800 days for the PC and Xbox 360 versions). Meanwhile,
Bioshock Infinite isn't even on the Top 100 list right now. The Top 100 list should be taken with a grain of salt, though. Because League of Legends has generally maintained a spot in the Top 10 on the list and no one is really expecting it to have much strength. Fallout 4 is next month so I'm going New Vegas. Fallout
4 releases Nov. 10th. I'd have considered Bioshock Infinite if not for
that, but Fallout 4 is one of the biggest releases of the year, and one
of the rare modern games where people will actually have to use
guides/forums to complete it. And Fallout 3 did really well in GOTD. If
Infinite is worth anything it could definitely still win, but I think
it's one of those games that made a big splash then faded fast. Edit: Oh, going FFXII over Bloodborne. Bit scared of antivoting, but 40% on Portal is more than I can see Bloodborne ever being worth. --- We are living our lives Abound with so much information (edited 10/20/2015 12:21:35 AM)report |
