Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. I don't remember much talk about LoZ:MM3D's release...that probably makes it a lock to win GotD if it was ever ran again. I'd consider Wind Waker to be the favorite. EDIT: I think the Zelda hierarchy would be something like: 1. Ocarina of Time 2. Link to the Past / Majora's Mask (Link to the Past should be the favorite to win, but Majora's Mask has built up quite the following over the years, and that 3DS version helps too) 4. Wind Waker (not as strong as the Big 3, but significantly stronger than the rest) 5. Twilight Princess 6. Link's Awakening / Link Between Worlds (ALBW is really well-received, but disappoints when push comes to shove) 8. Skyward Sword / Zelda (NES) (weak for a Zelda, but should still be able to clobber fodder and even some low midcarders) 10. I'm
impressed that today's poll has almost the same exact results as the
same poll from back in 2013. No option in today's poll is off by more
than 0.40% compared to the same poll from 2013. could be the wording of the poll question affecting results here. This
poll is not asking for your favorite game and that could have changed
the strength of the games that we seeing in this poll. Had this poll

Even if you hate it there's no doubt World of Warcraft had a huge influence in gaming. Though its inclusion to the inaugural Hall of Fame is debatable. http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/3447- From that contest match, I just realized that Pong is also weaker than Pac-Man. So this poll has resulted in Pong looking stronger than both Pac-Man and Tetris, even though Pong would lose to both games in a contest match. Also, 2201 votes at the end of the first hour for this poll. That puts it on track for 21000 to 24000 votes. stereotypes is the only one I agree with. MMOs existed well before and
after WoW (which streamlined and dumbed them down to bring in casuals,
which was not a good thing, I'd argue Diablo 2 is better as an MMO even
though you can only have 8 people in a party), and gaming companies

Voted for Pong because its "influence" reaches everyone, whereas Mario 1 probably doesn't matter much to a non-console gamer. In terms of popularity and perhaps reach of the medium WoW has definitely been influential, otherwise no. --- "Nothing I could do!" -Darksydephil |
So
yesterday's poll barely reached 23000 votes, which was slightly above
average for the vote totals we're getting lately. It wasn't quite as
high as I would have expected for a poll where almost all of the games
have high playrates (besides WoW's low playrate on GameFAQs). The trends for yesterday's poll were actually quite boring. I did track poll updates yesterday, but there was nothing of note in the trends. wow, even the PS4 is beating the 3DS and Wii U combined. I'm quite
surprised at the PS4's performance here, since it clearly doesn't have
