FFVII
is finally making an effort to cut into FFVI's lead here. The lead
reached a maximum of 269 at 2:10 AM. Since then, FFVII has only cut 26
votes off that lead, but I expect it to pick up the pace over the next

vote barrier shattered. Assuming the morning vote continues to go in
favor of FFVII, it should take the lead sometime in the morning. In
yesterday's poll, FFVII won a total of 22 hours over FFVI. The only
hours that FFVII lost to FFVI in yesterday's poll were the Power Hour
and the 10:00-11:00 AM hour. Just seeing that gives me some confidence
that FFVII won't blow today's poll to FFVI. Yesterday's poll finished with 30649 votes, which is the equivalent of 122311 votes if we had 2008 level vote totals. Compared to our average vote totals since November 21st, yesterday's poll received 34.24% higher vote totals (the age poll is closer to 40% above average). Those vote totals are getting into age poll territory. is FF6 so popular suddenly? it's even older than FF7 and has not had a
remake or anything so it should be getting weaker just like FF7. I think
this is just GameFAQs antivoting/hating FF7 more than ever. In the

I wish this were a real match. Also I think FF7 is getting heavily anti-voted. Hardly anybody really cares about it anymore and then you have people who actively dislike how popular it was even if it's not anymore. And there's definitely a "franchise effect" going on. There's a clear divide between the old SNES FFs and the PS1-current FFs. if this were a real match people would be questioning the fact that
votes had come in from countries such as Djibouti, Azerbaijan, and
Kyrgyzstan. (Though IIRC those were all countries that tended to
legitimately have a few votes. The "-stan"s to really question were

vote totals tend to go up when an actual contest has been announced. I
mean I usually don't even visit the frontpage unless there's a contest
going on or a topic here has informed me of an interesting poll; I only
happened to today because I just got a new computer and so my web

This is the best poll. Think of how badly FF6 would be getting crushed right now ten years ago. This isn't FF7 getting bested by Zelda or a massive rally or anything, this is FF7 getting bested by another game in its own series. Even after the last contest where FF7 bombed and Kefka did crazy good (including beating a FF7 character), I don't think anyone would've really expected something like this. Oh god, a games contest will be so chaotic. FFVII
takes the lead on the 5:30 PM update. I also have my poll updates

It really doesn't make sense with the previous poll. It isn't about FFVI being hurt by the other games, but rather FFVII's anti-votes being split up between the other 13 options. This heavily dilutes the anti-vote factor. Anti-voted games/characters prefer multi-way polls because they reduce the effect of anti-votes, while they struggle in a 1v1 poll. think the extremely low vote totals (compared to how they once were) is
also hurting FFVII a lot, by making anti-voting so much more
