-LusterSoldier- posted... spooky96 posted...Just saw this, interesting stuff http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/gamefaqs.com Oh. Well I just read this thing on the GameFAQs' wikipedia page. GameFAQs has been positively reviewed by The Guardian[3][4][5] and Entertainment Weekly.[6] In 2009, GameFAQs.com was one of the 300 highest-trafficked English-language websites according to Alexa. So is Allen really honest? Because currently it says 316. --- I don't really hit anyone unless the need arises. If the need arises, though, I'm not about to hesitate just because they have boobs. |
Females over-represented? Really? Yeah, I'm a bit skeptical about these stats. Meanwhile, ahahahaha @ FFXV bombing here. Though I'm surprised KHIII is doing so well, I guess people expect there's much less chance SE will f*** that up. At any rate, assuming it ends up actually being good (i.e. is uncharacteristic of the average SE game), we could probably expect Sora to stop embarrassing himself in contests again. --- Current Let's Play: Final Fantasy VI: Brave New World http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3577467 Prev: http://lparchive.org/author/mega64 |
redrocket posted... I wouldn't look for Smash U to do much unless it makes waves after its release. Hype for it is practically non-existent. Have you seen the Smash Bros. Wii U board yet? It's very active right now and has just slightly over 1 million posts on the entire board, and the game isn't even out yet. That includes all of the archived topics. The Brawl board has slightly over 3 million posts total, but the Brawl board could have had more posts than that since topic archiving was introduced about 1 month before the US release of the board. ctesjbuvf posted... Smash U has a lot of hype, more so than most games. Just because it doesn't come close to the Brawl hype, doesn't mean it doesn't have any. Brawl was such an exceptional case when it came to the hype machine that I don't think this site will ever be this hyped for any future game. On GameFAQs, Skyrim was the closest thing to a game with Brawl level hype. It's unlikely the next Smash Bros. will ever have the same kind of hype as Brawl, especially because the Dojo is updated very infrequently compared to the Brawl Dojo that was updated every day. Maybe as we get closer to the release date of the next Smash Bros, Nintendo will start releasing Dojo updates much more frequently. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as raytan7585, Guru Champ! |

Alexa is terrible I think the only time it is useful is if you pay and actually get information that is not made out of their ass |

be hard for Square to mess up KH3. It's not a series that needs much.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/3004 There was no way SSB4 was going to meet this absurd hype after Brawl's divisive landing; people's perceptions of Nintendo has changed a lot since 2008. The Wii also had twice the ownership the Wii U has after their first fourteen months. Granted, SSB4 is multi-platform and the 3DS now has comparable ownership to the Wii pre-Brawl...but I suspect people believe the Wii U-version will be the definitive version, so that may not matter so much. --- M E N: nominate Metal Man in 20XX! http://i.imgur.com/Dr4NAeq.png |
I
noticed that Smash Bros. is listed in this poll as "Super Smash
Brothers". I don't know how much that is affecting the performance of
Smash Bros. here, but I think Bacon should have used "Super Smash Bros.
for Wii U and 3DS" in this poll. There is much less confusion when you
use "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS" instead of "Super Smash
Brothers" for the poll option. This actually reminds me of how "Marvel vs. Capcom" was listed as "Versus Series" in this poll: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/3993 I know someone pointed out that "Versus Series" would have done better if it was listed as "Marvel vs. Capcom" instead. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as raytan7585, Guru Champ! |

Bravely Default vs Final Fantasy XIII for the lols anyone? :P |
That's
a tough one. FF13 will definitely get a ton of anti-votes, but no

anti-votes would blot out the sun, so I'd have a tough time trusting it

did a Top 10 of the worst FF games. However only games that include

"No,
I don't have a bit of interest in it" is currently about 10% higher
this year compared to the same poll last year. Running this poll a week

Sometime between 12:10 AM and 12:11 AM, the poll question was changed to "Are you going to watch the Super Bowl next Sunday?". Here were the results at 12:10 AM: Yes, and I'm rooting for the Broncos 11.01% 74 Yes, and I'm rooting for the Seahawks 9.23% 62 Yes, but mainly for the commercials 5.36% 36 Maybe, only if I don't have anything else to do 10.42% 70 No, I don't have a bit of interest in it 63.99% 430 TOTAL VOTES 672 Over the last 10 minutes, the last poll option has lost almost 4%, so the wording of the poll question is affecting the results today. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as raytan7585, Guru Champ! |
Or the board vote doesn't care about the super bowl. --- BOP Results: http://www.freewebs.com/charmander6000/CB9%20BOP.xls Congrats to raytan for winning the Guru Contest |
That's
possible, although the board vote is heavily dominated by North
America, so you would expect "No, I don't have a bit of interest in it"
to perform worst during the board vote because it will easily dominate
the night vote and early morning vote. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as raytan7585, Guru Champ! |
The super bowl is a more "casual" event, remember how well Sackboy performed against Kratos Aurion after the game. --- BOP Results: http://www.freewebs.com/charmander6000/CB9%20BOP.xls Congrats to raytan for winning the Guru Contest |

Ugh, this poll again. I think Dubbed could be higher if it didn't deliberately say "I don't want to have to read while playing." A good amount of people are not going to say that they don't like reading regardless. It should really say, "I prefer to hear English voices" I know it's mostly JRPGs in mind, but I seriously doubt most people here would rather hear Sonic and MGS in Japanese. --- I may be 17th on the Expert Challenge Leaderboard, But I'm still no match against raytan in the Guru |

Trend charts and poll updates from the Super Bowl poll 2 days ago: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AgBWiYjlMLwYdFpHX2ZGYWtCYkpkM0tRQmY1M3hjN2c&gid=3 Due to the mistake with the poll question in last Sunday's poll, the trends got affected here. "Yes, the Broncos" had an absolutely terrible board vote, which was even worse than its night vote and early morning vote. This is because of the mistake in the poll question. Once the poll question was fixed around 12:10 AM, it had a massive recovery and finished about 6% higher by the end of the Power Hour. "Yes, the Broncos" dropped off slightly during the night vote and then dropped off even more in the early morning vote. When the day vote trends started kicking in after 8:00 AM, the Broncos recovered very nicely and began to kill the day vote and never slowed down for the rest of the poll. It performed best during the final hour of the poll. "Yes, the Seahawks" had less extreme trends, but they were still very similar to the trends we saw from "Yes, the Broncos". Unlike the Broncos, the Seahawks performed much better during the board vote compared to the Broncos when the poll question still said "today" instead of "next Sunday". The Broncos absolutely left the Seahawks in the dust when the poll question was changed. The Seahawks finished the Power Hour just 0.64% higher than what it had at the board vote. "Yes, the Seahawks" performed much better during the night vote and early morning vote compared to the Broncos. It started to recover from its bad night vote after 8:00 AM as we started heading into the weekend day vote and continued to dominate the day vote for rest of the poll. "Yes, the Seahawks" had its best hour from 9:00-10:00 PM. "Yes, for the commercials" had a bad board vote, but started doing better when the poll question was changed. By the end of the Power Hour, it had a fairly average Power Hour (compared to its final percentage. "Yes, for the commercials" dropped off during the night vote and early morning vote. It started to recover from its bad night vote after 7:00 AM and dominated the day vote for the rest of the poll. "Maybe" had the closest thing to anything resembling balanced trends. Its worst hour was from 5:00-6:00 AM, which was only about 2% worse than its final percentage. Even with the day vote, it wasn't dominating that time period like the first 3 options were. "No, not interested" has the most interesting trends here. It had a very strong board vote as a result of the mistake with the poll question. The percentage we saw from "No, not interested" during the board vote is something we'd expect to see during the late night vote. Once the poll question was changed around 12:10 AM, it dropped from 63.99% to 54.71% over the next 50 minutes. The percentage of 54.71% at the end of the Power Hour is significantly higher than the Power Hour we saw in the 2012 and 2013 polls. In 2012, it had 44.55% at the end of the Power Hour and 47.54% in the 2013 poll. In this poll, "No, not interested" pulled off one hour under 50% during the first hour of the night vote before it started to dominate the later part of the night vote. It even managed to get over 70% in this poll, which was during the first hour of the early morning vote. But after that 70% hour, it began dropping off again as the day vote trends started to kick in during the morning vote. It collapsed big time when the day vote kicked in. Ignoring the first hour of this poll, "No, not interested" reached its highest percentage of 58.48% at 8:30 AM. After 8:30 AM, it lost a total of 7.10% until the end of this poll to finish with a final percentage of 51.38% (lower than the 2013 poll, but still about 4% higher than the 2012 poll). --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as raytan7585, Guru Champ! |
