what a turnaround. I guess it's not too surprising if you think about
this site though. Zelda probably overlaps with literally everything to a

The
LFF between GTA V and TLoU is pretty minimal at best. The LFF between
Zelda/Mario is much greater than that of GTA/TLoU. The biggest thing
that helped out Zelda was getting Mario out of the poll. Removing

I
don't know if LoZ:LBW can hold on, but I like its chances tomorrow if
it can win today. Even if GTAV/TLoU have stronger overlap, Nintendo
generally does better with fewer options...so that overlap better be
significant. Also, if LoZ:LBW pulls this off, there'll be a fine argument that Pokemon X/Y could beat TLoU too. Win or lose, the 3DS has made major headway for a handheld system; it'll have two of the three strongest games this year for sure, and maybe even three of the top four if FE:A > GTAV. To this point, no handheld games have looked better in GotY-polls than Mario Kart DS barely getting second place in 2005 or Pokemon Black/White 2 narrowly losing to Xenoblade which took second last year. To TLoU's credit, not many new IPs get this far either. wow. Surprised Zelda was getting leeched that bad. Still think TLoU
will gain more from GTAV than Zelda if we get a final final GotY
tomorrow though. Either winner is pretty cool. Either we get our first handheld GotY, or our first original IP GotY. zelda wins. This site is a farce, I liked albw a lot but it draws so
heavily on lttp to the point where several elements and entire bosses
are actual copy paste jobs. But then this is the site that considers Skyward Sword the 2nd best game of 2011 and Majora's Mask the greatest game of the last decade so it seems you've really got to be a huge amount better than a Zelda game to get superior recognition here. For people celebrating a handheld game doing well, don't kid yourself. There's a probable majority on this site (which is stuck in the 90's) who haven't played any game in the poll and are gravitating purely towards the Zelda name. |
