I'm amazed The Last of Us is doing so well considering the Uncharted games were never a bastion of strength. I think GTA is as weird as it's always been - hardcore voters, hardcore anti-voters. Put it in a poll with a bunch of other strong games and it performs fine. Put it in a poll with a bunch of weak games and it gets embarassed by Ni No Kuni. Or... hell, maybe NNK is actually kind of strong? |
GTA's
performance in the PS3 poll was not legitimate since the poll was
excluding the 360 owners of the game from voting for GTA since they
don't have the game on PS3. You can see from this poll that GTA is now
pulling in about 38% against TLoU after originally getting about 30% on

Not really surprised. TLoU is sweeping GotY everywhere else, and people actually, you know, like the game. I'm more surprised that Zelda's against GTAV, but that may be Mario hurting it. Also, hahaha mobile games and hahaha Ys doing well against Phoenix Wright. voted GTA 5 myself in all the polls that it was present. Also funny
enough that GTA 5 is fighting for 2nd place again! In PS3 poll it barely
managed to finish 2nd, can it do the same here again? And of course
Last is winning. Is Last that good? Seriously? I don't have a PS3... --- Why do we exist?What happens when we stop existing? |

Last of Us should have this. Zelda would need almost all of SM3DW's
votes to catch up and at best the other eliminated options would evenly

would expect certain votes -- PW, Ys -- to be more likely to vote for
Zelda than Last of Us. Zelda being the only Nintendo option should help,
too, more than you might think! Still probably won't win, but it should

My
interest in TLOU is pretty close to zero, I just don't like those kinds
of games. If I had a PS3 I'd probably try it just to see what all the
fuss is about but something about it would have to hit me pretty hard to

will say that The Last of Us is, by some distance, the most intense and
exhausting western game I've ever played (that's single player, at
least). I played it on Hard difficulty, and the closest comparison I can
make is to a much more serious Resident Evil 4. Even when there's dips
in the intensity, there's a pervasive sense of forboding and decay. I
thought I couldn't be overwhelmed by big-ticket "AAA" productions, but
it did. Every other game that stuck with me this year was either a small
indie production or for the 3DS (foremost among them, Zelda). Wherever Naughty Dog goes next, I'll likely follow, and there's not many developers I'd say that about today. --- We are living our lives Abound with so much Raytan |

There should be three games in the final poll. So Zelda, Last of Us, and GTA V. If it's sufficiently close between the top two (almost certainly Last of Us and Zelda) there might be a final final poll with just them, which happened for 2008. --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] [NO raytan NO PEACE] |
The only way we get a "Final, Final Vote" is if Zelda or GTA V somehow wins tomorrow's poll. What happened in 2008 was that MGS4 won the 9-way GotY poll, then Brawl won the 3-way poll. Don't look now, but GTAV looks like it's about to take second place. Not only are TLoU/GTAV more likely to leech off of each other, but Nintendo tends to do better with fewer options as well. I was getting some serious RE4 deja vu while playing TLOU as well, I'm surprised the comparison isn't made more often. |
