Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense. Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. It's
been YEARS since a Zelda game was received as well as ALBW and even
though all of this and ZeldaFAQs Pokemon is still leading Even if LBW wins at the end,this is one crazy performance |

pokemon is pokemon... the same game it's been for 20 years... i know
the zelda formula hasn't changed much either but pokemon, if anything,
has gotten worse. i've never been a huge fan of the series but from what
i've played, none of the newer gens have added enough to make them
worth playing. and the first gen pokemon are the best --- Fortune tellers make a killing nowadays. |

would say something about Americans and their taste in Videogames but
well this new Zelda game is apparently the best Zelda game since OOT so I

i'm
not saying that pokemon is bad, it's just not for me. i really liked
yellow when i played it years ago but when i've tried to play any game
since then it just felt like i was playing this exact same game with
worse characters and worse pokemon. like i said earlier, the zelda
formula hasn't changed much either but even with LBW being set in nearly
the same world as LTTP, it felt like a brand new experience. i'll admit
that zelda is my favorite series ever though so maybe i'm just biased --- Fortune tellers make a killing nowadays. |

surprise out of schedule Pokemon Bank release would clinch this for

It's been YEARS since a Zelda game was received as well as ALBW and even though all of this and ZeldaFAQs Pokemon is still leading It was much better than people expected and flew under the radar a little bit at a very congested release time. I'd imagine a lot of people haven't played it yet or are still playing it from christmas, hold the poll in 6 months time and there'd be a clear gap between them but right now it's probably playrate keeping it on the ground. |

Pokemon XY was hyped like crazy on this site. This site's tastes in
games has diverged quite a lot from the "mainstream" over the past few
years, and even Zelda and Final Fantasy haven't withstood the GameFAQs
shift. Granted, it doesn't help that the last few installments in both
series were pretty divisive among fans. --- Play Pac-Man World 2. |
Mainstream
changed a lot more than GameFAQs did. Mainstream went from liking
JRPGs to thinking they're all ****, and praising FPS and some WRPGs.

I blame Australia, New Zealand, and Asia for keeping Pokemon in this match. Well
Pokemon tends to be more independent of other Nintendo series, but Fire
Emblem is quite more of a handheld series. Honestly you could make a

hours left in this poll and Zelda has a lead of 49 right now. The only
thing that can save Pokemon is a rally or the trends going in its
favor. And since the SNV has more voters from Australia, New Zealand,
and Asia compared to the ASV hours, that will help out Pokemon here.
