How
can you believe Allen when the messages have been posted in full,
proving 100% that it was the same person both times, the messages
talking exactly how Allen would talk, and two separate reddit mods
confirming that the messages are real? What further proof do you need? --- "Thank you, thank you, no applause necessary, just send money..." |
Because
we all know what Allen's name on Reddit is, yet the screencap blocks
that info. Personally, I don't give a f*** anymore, and want the board

So
someone has gone to all the effort to come up with photoshopped
messages that look exactly like Allen, but then blocked out the screen
name? If the messages are fake why not just photoshop in a screen name
as well? The reddit mod who was leaking these screenshots didn't realize there was only one GameFAQs admin, that's why the names are edited out. he says as much in the other topic. the contestants (unlikely) and if they didn't bring the f***ing trolls

Well, when you guys react to an unknown character winning the way you did, you were pretty much asking for it. And of course a rally is going to be biased. We want a specific character to win over another specific character. Why would we support Snake or Samus on a subreddit that they have no business being on? --- If you have a contest on the internet, and it is open to the internet, don't complain when the internet votes. |

Yeah I have no problems with his thought process. He realized the contests were becoming overrun and decided to step in (something we can all agree with), later regretting his decision because its silly to outlaw rallies entirely (something we can all agree with). The problem arises that he unintentionally caused a whole lot of drama (or the r/LoL mods did) by claiming it wasn't him who took down the rallies, which led to r/LoL accusing board 8 members of taking down rallies by pretending to be admins etc etc. He also straight up lied to us in another topic that day. It would have been easier to say "I asked them to take down rallies initially but then reversed my decision because of reasons X, Y and Z." Again, the best way to handle this whole situation WOULD have been to come to the board after maybe Draven/Ryu/MMX and have an open discussion as to how to best proceed with the contest and how to deal with Draven rallies. We could have come up with some middle ground fairly easily. keeping the board at arms length has only led to problems. Also, as I said 50 posts ago, if I were Allen I would keep silent on this whole thing and let it blow over at this point. He doesn't need to confess or apologize in my eyes. What he did is 100% clear, and I can understand his reasoning. Mistakes were made, nothing new to see, lets move on. --- "Thank you, thank you, no applause necessary, just send money..." |

It's obvious it's Allen because he is running the contests, he admitted to sending the second message, and the messages both sound like Allen. My point was TheEnigmaBlade or whatever the mods name was is blocking out the names because he thought there were a lot of GameFAQs admins and so he would be protecting Allen by hiding the name. I still don't get is, where did that whole logic comparing Reddit
manipulating our contest to our users manipulating their votes come
from? It was a good point, but it wasn't from Bacon if these posts are
to be believed, so it had to have come from a mod on Reddit. If it came
from a Reddit mod themselves, why would Bacon changing his mind change
theirs? It was still a valid point. Unless, Bacon said in the blocked
out portion that he could face legal issues, so Reddit had to reverse

Oh hey, it just now occurred to me what a Link/Snake match allows us to do. Based on Link/Snake and Snake/Isaac/Keen, Golden Sun Isaac is worth 20.65% on Link. Isaac Fodder Line CONFIRMED. The rally in question that got deleted before the "official" rally got stickied, listed more than just Draven and didn't make the wording vindictive. The mods got fooled, made a rash decision without investigating, and made a vindictive post making it seem like we here at B8 were trying to use underhanded tactics, which, while there were some, the vast majority were decrying and mods were deleting those posts. You cannot confidently say for sure which of those 4 games is the strongest one out of that group. am definitely convinced that Allen or someone close to Allen IRL is a
big fan of Snake, otherwise explain why Snake always gets to make a deep
run in the contest at the expense of FF7 or a slightly easier bracket

The actual "stories behind the contest" are the greatest thing I have ever seen. He probably felt he'd have landed himself in serious trouble influencing this rally (which is allowed according to his rules) and not any other and backtracked. I'm sure he realises the cartoon cover up isn't too believable but nobody can prove otherwise. What's more concerning was him flat out lying to Board 8 claiming someone was impersonating him. Should have said nothing, his attempt to gain short term favour with Board 8 from that led him to getting outsmarted by an r/lol mod which is a pretty embarrassing situation. I mean lying, then slandering the people protecting your lie? He's not coming across as the sharpest tool in the shed. |
