I'm not sure if I want Draven above or below 50%. On the one hand, if he's below 50%, it's kind of like a GameFAQs vs Draven victory in a sense. On the other hand, if he's above 50%, then that's just ridiculous that the would have so much power.

Of course, it's not really worth the energy to care. Either way, Draven wins, Reddit wins, he has a ridiculous amount of power, there are no bragging rights of any kind to keeping Draven under 50%.

It's just kind of the only thing left to look at at this point though, although Draven is boosting again and will easily pass 50% at this rate.

I think what has happened today has utterly vindicated my argument during Mewtwo/Draven that Allen was wrong to correct them; falling for any impersonation is 100% their own fault, and it's not for the admin of this site to correct their stupidity.

I disagree with this. I think the fact that GameFAQs was being misrepresented is enough reason for Allen to step in, Character Battle be damned.

Oh, and I mean those last four words literally. Screw this contest.

Nah this is pretty close to Draven's true power. The only way he is stronger is if GameFAQs had votals relative to 2008. LoL already threw everything but Riot themselves at this poll.

I wouldn't expect another sticky, but then, it was weird that it happened today, so who knows. I know people would be down on the idea regardless, after what happened to Snake, but I would favor Link more likely than not 1 on 1. The sticky would very likely push Draven to a win, but without it, he'd have no shot IMO.

This match further proved that Draven cannot be underestimated. He has way too many tricks up his sleeve to be beaten with anything less than ~200k votes from the challenger.

It would play out like today. Manipulating the mods into cheating the results has proven to be trivially easy.

Link's one shot is that they simply wouldn't care enough to do so.

The /r/LoL mods are the biggest losers in the internet

1.They got tricked by a an imposter
2.They said they decided to delete rally threads because a "staff member" told them AND because it's not related to League of Legends
3.They are..very obedient...they really care about if the admin of GameFAQs agrees or not
4.They got tricked..again...this time by a person with 1 Karma that was obviously doing this to make reddit hate us
5.They realized that they got tricked again, and now they went mad, decided to get a revenge against us? by making a rally thread, sticking it,putting a notice, and making it reach the first spot of /r/LoL in 5 minutes
6.They invaded this topic just to tell us "we deserved it"
7.They realized how stupid they are,and took down the notice..but they still wanted some kind of revenge so they left the rally thread up

Maybe we need a bonus poll Charizard vs Sora vs LoL mods for biggest turds of the contest?

The misrepresentation happens all the time and was completely harmless. Allen correcting it later or even not at all was far better than knowingly affecting votes.

This. LoL in general is far worse than anything that Link has ever done. It's not so much rallying in general that's the problem, although we really need to go back to 1v1s as well to keep the Pokemon at bay.

I don't disagree. If that's how mods at Reddit handled Draven rallies going forward, then it'd just be too hard regardless, because there would never be a good shot for momentum to build for Link and encourage his own rallies and Draven would have a continuous supply of people seeing that post. It's possible that would happen, even, or something crazier, but just with 'regular' Reddit rallies, not weak ones just what has been expected from them with Draven, I'd expect Link to still be too much for them without anything holding him back.

I don't think the LoL mods have ever dealt with something like this before. I know the LoL fanbase probably rallies for stuff like this all the time, but the GameFAQs Contests is the one thing established and big enough to "fight back." Also, I doubt the mods really give a ****. They've probably just been mildly annoyed/bemused by this 2-3 times in the past two months. It's not like they're following this closely, they probably have no idea what's going on and couldn't care less if they got "played" or not.

It's not really playing fair when he gives that level of attention to one off site board and absolutely no others. He has an official account there, he advertises the contest there, he monitors comments there and corrects misunderstandings. It's a strange relationship with an unaffiliated site.

So what would we consider a good performance for Snake tomorrow? Besides winning, obviously.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/3856

Link might have boosted because of the events of this contest, but coming off this match you'd think if anything Snake would be benefiting even more. Surpassing Cloud's performance at the absolute minimum would probably be a good mark for Snake to shoot for, particularly since I can't see Cloud doing that nowadays.

Rivalry Rumble looks practically prophetic now on a lot of things:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/4571

That's probably close to what I'd expect out of Link vs. Cloud these days.

And Cloud/Sephiroth's loss to the Pokemon Trainers clearly wasn't just lol Rivalry Rumble - heavily rallied entities that represent Pokemon RBY and channel its strength are capable of challenging and beating FFVII. Squirtle probably wouldn't have beaten Cloud 1-on-1, but he could have gotten embarrassingly close. Mewtwo vs. Sephiroth isn't very credible considering the circumstances, but it's probably not a good sign for FFVII either.

Rivalry Rumble was halfway kind-of sort-of legit.
Who'd a thunk it?

Why? Nothing that happened was technically against the rules. Did this change the game? Of course it did. Besides, if Allen had done the right thing and allowed the extension, Link probably would've won. That outage was unfortunate, and fuels conspiracy theorists, but other than that, everything has been...I won't say "good" because it hasn't been, but it's been okay. I mean, we've got celebrities tweeting about this thing. What would happen if we had an entire contest full of rallies, from the outset? This contest kind of turned into a rallyfest eventually, but only after Draven did some damage. If it were like this from the start? It'd be beautiful.

Coincidence. I mean, not a coincidence because it was reddit, but the mod topic went up at a time when people would be there anxiously awaiting the start of worlds. The timing was just brutal, the absolute best for Draven fans and worst for fans of anyone else.

I'd love for Snake to surpass Cloud's mark, but Link tomorrow should be far and beyond anything he was capable of in 2010. Anti-votes should be mitigated if not neutralized entirely. And I'm not buying that GameFAQs is going to care too much about Snake getting screwjob'd by the end of this match.

Rallies make the contest way less fun. Yeah, you get the occasional Mega Man, and seeing Snake fight back via Hayter et al is cool, but once rallies are the deciding factor in all semi-close matches predictions become totally pointless. This contest would have been a lot better without the rallies. (And yes, I know they're not "against the rules", but that's because it would be basically impossible to implement a rule against them).

Don't worry, I took Snake > Draven > Samus (picking Draven to win meant I had no chance of winning, and Samus > Snake was not a pick I ever considered taking). I wouldn't be surprised if a few others around my placing on the leaderboard did something similar, so you'll definitely be on.
