I don't think some people realize that Reddit rallies are unlike any other rally possible, by sheer numbers. Oh, I wasn't saying it's fine for one but not the other. I was just saying Reddit cares just as much as we do about getting the result they want. It's easier for them, but the amount of rally threads they post and lengths they go to to make them work should tell you that! I don't really like rallying in general, but if it's gonna happen, I'm not gonna call out one side for having to do more to make it work. The numbers are definitely important, though. I think it's because we'd rather have a contest winner that more than 20% of this site's user base actually gives a crap about. Snake winning would've been B8's doing. Draven winning isn't reflective of GameFAQs at all. I mean, I don't like rallies in general, but I'd rather have our champion than Reddit's champion. Vote total projection time! To reach 200000 votes - We would have to average about 852.4 votes per update for the rest of the match. Since the last 13 updates have all gotten at least 1100 votes or more, that projection is possible, but the rally will eventually lose steam later on. To reach 180000 votes - We would have to average 673.8 votes per update for the rest of the match. Now this projection is easier to pull off given our huge updates over the past hour. as stupid as this contest has been, you couldn't have scripted one that
could have had as much drama. The board has gone completely nuts

the way, we could still keep our contests and have great battles even
with some outside rallying as long as one change is made. Ban MMO characters. It's that simple. They only things that have this kind of unified and constant following on reddit or anywhere else are, by definition, MMOs. everyone and everyone can rally for whoever they want and whatever
other platitude they want to throw at me I don't think rallies should be banned. They're perfectly within the rules. I don't like them, but I accept that it's within the rules. So don't misunderstand what I'm saying. and since FFD was asking earlier, Snake has to fall below 41.78% for
Chester not to finish dead last. Snake is currently at 43.98% and

It's not about rallies being allowed, it's about them being encouraged and catered for. - Single page voting - Multi-ways - Allowing joke/novelty/niche rally bait into the bracket. The kind of trash and non-characters that Cjay stayed well clear of. - 12 hour polls - Advertising the contest on Reddit - Requesting deleted threads be brought back up on Reddit These are all decisions within Allen's control that he chose the rally friendly option for. |
