could be wrong but It only seems to be LoL that has this ridiculous
level of online presence / rally potential (going by this contest and
what others have said about them dominating contests on other sites).
Maybe there'll be another MOBA/MMO with similar popularity in the future
but if we have a games contest next year it should be sufficient to
just exclude LoL from the bracket. 1v1 Games, no divisions by era, no LoL, no OoT save for bonus match, display poll on every page of the site to boost votals (though the banner hasn't really done a lot.. which I don't really understand given Allen's insistence that overall traffic is as high as ever) --- GT: wgt07 Metroid Prime, Super Meat Boy speed runs: http://www.youtube.com/user/wgtan01 |

still say a Game of the Generation contest would be good, hopefully
lacking LoL just because that would be very boring if it was included.

After
talking with Smurf through email more, it is seems like he is not the
Touhou stuffer. He was banned for vote stuffing a non-Touhou character.
The messages I was getting from Smurf were very ambiguous and did not
outright confirm or deny that he was the Touhou stuffer. Until now,
when I got an email finally confirming that he was not the Touhou

I
am disappointed that the bonus match was changed. I was hoping to see
Link fight Draven! As long as Draven finishes below 50% in this match,
you've got to give Link a chance of winning the 1v1. And Draven is
STILL below 50% here. He's no longer gaining either, so unless
something changes in the next 3.5 hours, he'll lose to Snake + Samus. Win or lose, I wanted to give Link a chance. --- 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2010, 2011 10 championships is not enough. ZeldaFAQs thirsts for more. |

Yeah
if Draven had won this match without having to resort to underhanded
tactics it would have been one thing, but I no longer have any interest
in seeing Link/Draven now. Link/Snake is at least a 1v1 fight we've
never seen before, and despite the extreme improbability of the upset is

gotta at least admit that Snake should have a notably better chance
than he did three months ago. The vibe I've gotten around here today is

Still it's better to stand for what's right: not letting anyone impersonate you. It would also put Allen's ass on fire if he knew about the impersonation and didn't do anything about it; that would mean he's letting an unauthorized party stand for official word on GameFAQs matters. And if he claims he didn't know about it, he'd still be in trouble since that would mean he's ignorant of his active duties as site administrator. (It might have been brought up before, but when Allen started using the word 'legally' in his writeup to the users, from that point forward his hands are severely tied with what he can do with regards to the contest. Snake
is going to explode at the start but I expect link to take it pretty

Don't
get it twisted, GameFAQs is enamored with Link right now. In one stroke
all has been forgiven against him. I wouldn't lose sight of that
because of a stupid reddit invasion. I mean I'd love Snake to give Link the fight of his life but chances are slimmmmm. We don't even get spillover from these losers, the Link match aside. --- Welcome to the League of Stickies. |
It's
perfect for Snake fans, yes. But it's lose/lose for Link fans. If
Link wins, he still doesn't get a chance to get the win he deserves over
Draven or to prove himself #1. If Link loses, well.......that's a
disaster that Draven could never do to him, even if he tripled him. Without this mod rally, Draven loses 1v1 to Link or Snake easily. Draven was on track to lose to Snake with Samus in the poll today. Draven is still at 49.6% on Snake + Samus. Imagine a Link/Snake/Samus match with Ultimate Link. Could Link break 50%? He once got 45% in a match with Cloud and Snake, and you know Samus would fold hard. I can easily see a 50/40/10 split. Draven is definitely the favorite, but it's NOT impossible. --- 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2010, 2011 10 championships is not enough. ZeldaFAQs thirsts for more. |

If
nothing else, the next match will help us determine if Link should be
retired. He was building up LAW anti-votes for a few contests that
could've made him mortal after awhile, but him almost saving us from
Draven got a ton of people off his case. If Link slaughters Snake, then

something else unexpectedly big like that, Link would probably take the
match against Draven without too much trouble. It's when there is that
kind of crazy exposure like he got today where it becomes too much. 1v1
removes a big anchor that Link doesn't have to deal with and Draven
couldn't stand up to even with his usual rallies. But if a mod just
threw up another sticky thread, instead of dealing with constant threads
being made and deleted it'd probably be different. I kinda agree that I
wanted to see Link take on Draven again 1v1, though. --- tune in tokyo 142.94 |

Feels
wrong to retire Link after this contest of all times, especially when
he had the loss he did. He probably should have been retired this year,
because going forward I don't think anyone can stand up to him, and
Cloud and Sephiroth are no longer a tier above the rest of the NN, which
makes the winner a toss up. But just because he beats Snake in a bonus

Draven's
busted out something "big" five times in a row now. Link had his
number, Mewtwo was actually leading by 2000, and Snake was within a hair
of taking the lead. At this point, we have to grant it to LoL fans: if
nothing else, they are savvy and resourceful and will get their guy what

how gullible the LoL subreddit mods have turned out to be when people
have tried to manipulate them, you gotta think it's likely Draven
supporters would figure out a way to get a Draven rally pinned if he was
threatened again in a bonus poll. Playing "how incompetent, gullible, inconsistent, or indifferent will the LoL subreddit mods be today?" doesn't sound fun to me, and that's probably all a Draven/Link 1-on-1 match would be. --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] |
