The
reason Link did so much better is because he was getting a big chunk of
the Reddit voters. Link probably coasts to way over 50% in a
Link/X/Ryu match in Reddit. Or a Link/Mewtwo/Sephiroth match for that
matter. Though I have to say, Draven does have a lot of very suspicious activity in both R2 and R3. Draven's 2 hour afternoon surge after the downtime when his Reddit rally topics were down or fading is very suspicious. The LoL official forums rally doesn't explain it because SBAllen confirmed it was only providing 5% of the incoming votes. --- 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2010, 2011 10 championships is not enough. didn't care until now... but once it looked like Draven had finally
been shut down, only to have it ripped away like this... I'm actually
sad. Well I guess the regime of link is over, and the regime of league

each other's heads off back when we thought Draven winning was a
shoe-in. Now that Draven winning is a shoe-in after we have 2.5 hours of

Speaking as someone who spent way too much time looking at the extra votes, this is incorrect. The total amount of rallied votes incoming was much lower. Even assuming it was a stronger Link, Link + Shepard was not drawing significantly more votes than Ryu+MMX, total. The discrepancy was pretty much all Draven there. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

I'd have done that, but back-to-back updates of 35 and 40 with 20 minutes left in the match when the second-largest update swing of the first 23 hours and 40 minutes had been only 34. YES I'M STILL PISSED. Although it should be noted that the 34-vote update (also Mega Man's) came immediately after the one update larger, 44 in Mega Man's favor. --- RIP GrapefruitKing and Emporer_Kazbar. Can't
believe Link's vote siphoning would be that notable. When votes are
primed, as they are with this rally, your backfire percentage is going
to be very small regardless of what the other options are. Very low

how do you figure that? The rally started from the poll opening in

Yeah
now I just can't wait for the contest to be done with so everything can
blow over and we can go back to be in a secluded little backwater. I
just have no passion for this now. None at all. There was so much
positivity around MM's win that I was actually happy that Charizard
lost. Then Mewtwo started exposing Draven. It was the best the board had
been since the 8 seeds were announced. And now I'm just sick of this whole contest. I really hope you LoL guys are happy. And you too, Allen. --- XIII_rocks, the cream of XIII fanboyism. |

I don't know what Allen would say, but I don't think people should vote for Barkley for what he did within our lifetimes (for those of us who remember him as a basketball player). I lived in Arizona when he joined the Suns and that will forever taint my opinion of him. Lu Bu, despite having been a real person, is so removed from my reality that he is effectively a character. On top of that, what stories we do know of him have been fictionalized to a degree in order to make the story more exciting even within a genuine historical context. Also, Koei's version is really a fictionalization of a fictionalization. tldr: Essentially, Barkley is simply more real to us than Lu Bu because he is alive and we can contextualize the fictitious Barkley against the real one with a nearly perfect degree of accuracy. The fictional Lu Bu is, oddly, even more real to us now than the actual person he is based off of. --- SuperNiceDog had a super nice bracket too. |

Draven had every reason in the world to start off stronger than he did in the X/Ryu match. Reddit was poised to launch a tactical nuke at us in the Link match. And they did launch it. But Link had the sheer power to survive. In terms of pure rally strength, no question that the Draven Link faced was the strongest Draven. Now, if you think stuffing was for some reason lesser in the Link match than in X/Ryu, then you can claim Draven might have been weaker against Link. No need to go into baselines. Ryu/MMX/Draven had 85k votes after 12 hours. Draven had 55k of those votes. Link/Draven/Shep had 66k votes after 12 hours. Draven had 32k of those votes. This means Link + Shepard drew 34k votes and Ryu+MMX drew 30k. Like there's not even a huge difference in the amount of total votes they got. And if anything you'd expect the MMX match to have less votes considering it started later --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |
