For reference, Sephiroth cut over 4400 votes from this point against Missingno until noon. Votals are a bit lower this match, but Sephy has all day. I don't think this is over yet.

Mewtwo is, well....a lot stronger

how many users even frequent reddit? cause i'm sure only a very small percentage of redditors even bothered to vote for draven, and it was still huge

Mega Man would be a fine winner. I'd be fairly bitter about Samus and especially Pokeymanz, but Mega Man is a feel-good story that even I wouldn't be able to complain (too much) about.

He has a rough road ahead of him, but is definitely the contest dark horse at this point.

BannerFAQs definitely throws a crazy monkey wrench into everything, though, so I dunno how plausible that is. There's a nonzero chance that Sephiroth can come back here.

Seph winning this is possible because who the hell knows what can happen, but he's in a way, way bigger hole against Mewtwo than he was against Missingno. He's consistently getting beat solidly in updates. If Sephiroth *only* moves twice as much percentage as he did against Missingno from here on out, he's still going to lose badly.

Naah. As optimistic as I'd like to be, Seph isn't gonna catch Mewtwo. I'm okay with it as long as he buries Draven.

Funny thing, I don't think he'll win, but Mega Man *is* the winner we deserve. He'd be the actual "plucky underdog" story. I mean NO ONE would have imagined Mega Man would be in contention to win the contest.

Sephiroth's been moving a decent amount of percent, but he's still losing updates badly (by the standard of 'has a chance to win').

hes not gaining on mewtwo, he should probably finish about 45-46% on him though

sephiroth has risen almost 7% from his low point before the draven rallies started getting nuked.

Seph/Snake/Samus would be a legit 33/33/33 battle. Sephiroth is a bit weaker than the other two (probably almost 55/45 by now) but they overlap a lot more with each other than he does. That would actually be our best possible final at this point. I really hope Seph can make this comeback.

So, Pikachu or Squirtle for 2nd tomorrow? Is it basically a coin-flip?

Also, good show Mega Man! I don't think it can be overstated how well he did to beat Pokemon in a close match, he is probably the most impressive Noble Niner this contest.

Nah, Mewtwo will dominate in the day. Seph looks like he'll handily pass Draven but he's still going to get owned by Mewtwo. He can approach 40% on Mewtwo if he's lucky.

Agreed with JC... this contest has been amazing, no matter how it came to be. The drama has been turned up to 11, the upsets have been from far left field, it's quite simply been the best contest ever for overall entertainment value. It stuns me to see people complain about this contest given how enjoyable it has been for me.

Most of this contest has been terrible. There's been a few epic moments, but for the most part it has been really bad.

Mewtwo just looks better and better each match... this is nuts. I'm really impressed with Pikachu but after two great matches, he looks stable... and stable isn't gonna cut for him next round. He needs whatever steroids Mewtwo is taking to beat Snake with Squirtle in the poll. Charizard is gone and Red isn't putting up anything like Mewtwo either... unless Squall is legit the same strength and both Vivi and Red have somehow gained a large amount of ground.
